YZF R125, RS125, or RS250?
Getting my first bike early next year (I know that's ages away ) but not sure what to go for. Love the R125 but the noise it makes seems a bit pony..on the other hand not really been a fan of the screaming 2 strokes. Will probably be trekking the 65 miles I one way to work fairly often so need something capable of that and seeing as most of that trip is A14 I could do with something that won't dawdle. Also will need something reliable.
Does anyone have any views or suggestions?
ZXR 400 if you can find a nice one - make a very nice first bike - though if you want to do that kind of miles each way then a 600 Fazer is the commuter bike of choice..........

So no one on this site has any advise on this ????????
Evotech are always the tail tidy's I use - slightly more expensive but always look the business.

i fitted a GYTR (genuine yamaha technology rcing) carbon fibre slip on , to my 2008 FZ1N . it looks awesome & sounds very sweet ..
Got any pictures??

go the FZ1 , the extra grunt & power will be appreciated in the long term ..
Thanks - what I am wondering though is whether the new 08 Fazer is any much better than the 07 or 06 - does anybody know this kind of detail - I can only find road tests on the 06 models and am wondering if the 08 or 07 are appreciably different....
Anybody got any ideas very welcome.
Thanks.
James.

According to the information received with my end can, no re-mapping is required. If you like you could always invest in a power commander, but thats like another £200-£300. They usually come with pre-set maps for certain cans, all information you can find on the end-can manufacturers web sites.
As i said before though, i think my bike runs better now that the valve has gone.
If you havent already, i take up the slack in the throttle as well. Why do the insist on putting the things out the factory with about an eighth of a turn required before you get any response? I hate that shit

That is a truely beautiful exhaust you have there - couple of Q's - is it street legal? (I get pulled all the time for stuff and dont want to give them any extra excuses) - and where did you get it (phone # if poss) - and what did it cost to buy and fit - any help appreciated.

Hi - well after ditching my R1 because I finally had to admit is was just too uncomfortable to ride in town for more than around 20 minutes (I live in London) - I got me a Fazer 600 (08 version) - which is a very nice bike but has a few key things I dont like - mainly how tricky it is to ride smoothly off from the start and clunky gearbox from first to second but mainly - NOT ENOUGH POWER - maybe I was spoilt with the R1...
So I had a test drive on an 06 Fazer and liked it.
My question is - is the 07 or 08 fazer significantly better in any way because some people seem to say it is - but if I go for an 06 version I will of course save a bundle.
Any help appreciated.
James.
I mean I took a test ride on an 06 Fazer 1000 in case there is any confusion - sorry. Its the 1000cc Fazers I am looking at now.
