  1. Hi all, I've fitted these headers (03-05) to my bike and I'm struggling to find a reducer so that I can fit the can back on. If any one has done this and managed to source a reducer to fit, could you please post the details. Your help will be much appreciated! Thanks inadvance Jim
  2. No that was the 2006 R6S. Mine is the new shape. It confused me at the time! Cheers Chris Jim
  3. I've been told that 2003 - 2005 headers will fit the 2006 R6R, they just need an adapter for the end can. Is this right? Any one any ideas where to get this adapter? If any one has any info on this subject I would apreciate your input. Many thanks in advance Jim
  4. I would fight that all the way. Trading standards state that Items should be fit for purpose and obviously your R6 isn't. I'm sure the equivalent laws in the US state roughly the same. My 06 R6 has 38000 miles on it and I've had no probs!

You need to buy an after market flasher relay for LED lights. Where you got the indicators should stock them. They come bike manufacture specific so make sure it's for a Yam. The flasher unit is located under the tank at the rear (on 06 onwards, not sure where for earlier models), so you need to raise this slightly to get your hands in to change them over. It's an easy job, I did it on mine. Good luck
  6. Just found this on E-bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Yamaha-R6-00-01-brea...1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. If your mechanically minded, it may be worth while pulling the motor apart and having a look. Normally the top end will seaze first but any how, it may be cheaper to repair yourself and know you have a good motor than buying one for £500+ and gambling on what your getting. Just a thought. Jim
  8. Thanks for the tip YODA, it turned out that the number plate light wires had rubbed on the frame through to bare wire and my installation of the indicators had moved them and allowed them to short to the frame every now and then. Sorted Thanks again
  9. I myself had a cat and by the deciption of the fluid it sounds like coolant. If I remember correctly the three overflow tubes are fuel (from float chambers of carbs), Coolant overflow from radiator pressure cap and coolant overflow from expansion tank. I wouldn't worry to much, it may just be over full and will lose what it doesn't need. Take a look at the expansion tank and see what level the fluid is in that. It's located behind the panel below the seat on the right hand side of the bike. Hope this helps
  10. Can any one shed some light? I have replaced my standard indicators with some LED ones and also replaced the relay unit so they don't flash to fast. My problem is that at high engine speed and with the indicators on, the fuse keeps blowing. Has any one experienced the same problem and have any info. Cheers
