  1. Hi mate, you shouldnt need to up jet if your engine is not spluttering and the temp stays fine,i have a 94 dtr with full dep system and my bike will hit 80mph with the standered jet setting, sputtering engine + high temp= upjet,if not leave it as is.Also it might be worth disconecting the servo and pinning your powervalve open as it may be restricted, your right it does turn to the left to open when reved but if its restricted it will close again at about 5/6k

  2. Not necerseraly(or however you spell it lol) the dep pipe is different to the bigone pipe sound wise and performance, ive got a small hole in my dep front pipe and im thinking of getting the full nikkon as it cost the same as the dep front.

  3. Hi guys/gals,ive got a full dep system on me dtr at the moment but ive turned into a bit of a exhaust nut lol and im thinking of getting a full nikon exhaust for me bike.Has anyone got one on there bike or has anyone rode a bike with one on?? What are they like sound wise and performance. Thanks syks

  4. Hi all, can anybody help iv got a dtr 125 2000 year, when i set off it it seems very sluggish as though its going to cut out, but as soon as it gets moving the power seems to come back. Also if i keep the revs high it seems to keep its power. somebody told me it could be my power valve sticking but im not sure what that is or where to find it. Cheers

Hi mate,it could be your powervalve sticking in the open position, when you lock your powervalve open you lose some bottom end and the bike is slow up to around 6.5/7k at which point it will fly,if your bike stays fast as longs as you keep your revs above 6.5/7k then i would say it probably is the powervalve.

  5. Sorry mate but ive never ridden that bike before but dont worry about keeping right up there with the traffic at first, just keep controll of your lane and take the corners at a comfitable speed for you, dont let the cars bully you into making silly mistakes, enjoy your riding and be safe.

  6. LOL hi mate,i sort of know what you mean. You can get boysen power reeds off ebay for around £28,ive heard that they dont make that much difference to the speed but makes the throtel more responsive,im not sure about the jets as i was after one myself but didnt have much luck on the internet,my mate gave me a 240 main jet though but i aint put it in yet,it might be best to ask your local garage if they can order you in a main jet,it wont cost much as i think you can get a 260 for under £2

  7. to be honest i found my cousins cbr 125 very boring compared to my DT any way. Most likely to be because its a 4t 125?

Ive heard alot of people say the cbr 125 is the dullest, slowest and boringest sports bike you can get, dont know how true it is as i havnt ridden one myself but ive seen a vid on youtube of a dtr 125 racing a cbr and it left it for dust, the cbr seemed very slow.

  8. Go for it mate, youve got the kind of attitude that will make you a safe rider,i would be more worried if you wasnt a bit nervous, dont speed, dont tailgate, stay alert and you will enjoy your riding.

  9. You wont be dissapointed,at first the bike seems MASSIVE lol but after a while it seems to shrink and you will be throwing it around corners in no time. The later models are harder to derestrict, some are i think restricted in about 6/7 places where as if you can find a 90s model in great condition the main restrictions are in the exhaust and the powervalve,i have heard that a newer model derestricted is faster than a older model though,it just takes more time to mod it.Good luck mate

  10. With the full dep exhaust 0-60 is fast as fook,it flies and gets there in no time at all.I think it is the best 125 out there and the only down side is the nobbly standered tyres are shit (and deadly) for wet road use,my bike beats my mates nsr up to 70mph.Oh yeah, with the dep exhaust make sure you sit over the petrol tank because when the powerband kicks in(especialy in first) the front lifts,i would recomend a dep to anyone,it makes the bike feel more like a motor x bike instead of a 4 stroke and you can really feel the bands, its great.I only need to get a set of them avon tyres now and i will be super happy with my bike.If you want a 125 that can be used on and off road get the best, get a DTR 125 :D

  11. on the kickstart side of the crank case the is a small circular window below the kick start the is no oil in there should it be full and if so what oil do i need. also if i ride the bike around for a while there is engine oil ontop of the case could it be just a new gasket is needed. and 1 last q there is a rattle again on that side of the engine and builds with the revs any1 had this problem thanks alot Dom.

There should be gear box oil in there,im no expert but the rattle your hearing could be signs that your bike needs a rebuild,it could be the top or bottom end or if your unlucky both.Im sure someone else with a bit more knowlage on the mechanical side of bikes will come along and help.
