Hi everyone my name is chris and i am brand new here in the yamaha owners club. I am 37 years young and just got my first bike. It's a 1979 Yamaha 400xs. I aquired this bike by trading a computer for it. It doesn't run and doesn't have a title so my first step is to search for the title and hopefully find it so i can prove ownership and start my project of restoring it. All i have right now that shows it's mine is a bill of sale. I plan on striping it down to the frame and rebuilding it to like new condition. That is my goal at least. My father once told me that if i ever got a bike i should get one like this so i can tear it down and rebuild it. This way i know my bikes …

I thought that I'd finally get around to joining the forum after being lead here multiple times by google searches looking for advice. My name is Luke and I'm from Australia. I have 2 Yamaha's First of all a 1985 SR 250 I'm close to having registered And secondly an 1987 FZR 1000 which being the sensible person I am....and not having access to anything else I learnt to ride on. Unfortunately I have dropped it twice.....Both times just pushing it out of the way in the garage,The good news is that i havent damaged it bar a tiny, barely noticeable dent in the tank. The FZR doesn't have any fairings as it was bought naked, I'm considering an R1 tail conversion o…

Just bought my first project bike today. A 78 XS400. does not run the previous owner was in the process of making it into a Cafe. I am on the lookout for any Ideas on how and what you guys might recommend for making this bike a real Head turner. Wanna be able to take it to track days and out on the street as well. An info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi People.. Just getting into the motorcycle scene. I have started with the TW200 and rebuilt that one to near completion and I am now starting on an 83 XS400j Maxim. I like to tinker and see where it takes me.. The TW needed a maze of wiring rebuilt and the 'street' put back into the dual purpose persona. She is now sitting and waitng to get new socks and then she is completed project. The Maxim was a recent purchase for barely lunch money but it has the potential to be resurrected to a fine machine. I will post pics of each and their past and current stages in a few days.. BTW if anyone has a repair manual or a line on good parts for the MAXIM let me know. Thanks

Heya, I'm mahou. I'm very new to the biking world. I passed my CBT about 5 months ago and bought my first bike shortly afterwards. I did my CBT on a Yamaha YBR and thought it was a great starter bike, so I picked one up for cheap. Here she is on the first day I got her: From afar the bike looks great but she really has seen much days. Many of the panels are cracked or missing and it seems to have been dropped so many times. I've stumbled on this forum every now and then so I figured it was about time that I joined it and shared my little project Hi!

Hey guys just saying hi from Adelaide in South Australia. My name is Sam Taylor. I’m real new the bike world (although been interested for many years). Just got my L plates and bought myself a 2013 Yamaha xvs650 Classic. I absolutely love it. Completely standard at the mo but planning on playing with it a little over the coming years. If there are any like minded peeps in adelaide or anyone keen for a ride hit us up. Stay safe Cheers, Sam

Awaiting delivery of my 1965 YDS3, all the way from Colorado to the UK. It should be here by mid to end January, 2020. I first owned a YDS3 back in 1965, my first new 'bike - it was a glorious red one. I spotted this current blue one on t'internet - special because it's untouched and absolutely original, yet in remarkable condition. Everything is there - both keys, full tools, handbook/service book, pump, fuel tank filter and dipstick (even my original didn't have that!). Anyway, I look forward to getting support if I need it, and giving help and support whenever I can. Barry
