Recently came across a 1975 mx 175. It has been stored in a garage and has not been started for 15 years. Overall condition is pretty good. I'm going through cleaning and poking around and have ordered a manual and a new air filter (as the old one disintegrated upon removal). Fuel tank was empty and in excellent condition. Oils will be drained and filled with fresh stock. Would greatly appreciate any input as to what else needs to be done prior to start up. I have just enough mechanical ability to be dangerous, and look forward to spending time on this new project. look forward to your replies. Cheers Tom

I have a 86 xt600 that i have owned for about 10 years. Been riding since I was bout 4. I am a seasoned 41 years old. The xt 600 had a no start problem back in 04 & I started diagnosis & inspection , got side tracked & ended up on my 1st street bike at 32 years young. I went and bought a new Harley softail springer injected bike. Well somebody wanted more than me & they still have it cause i haven't seen it since. Sorry for the long intro yall.

Just discovered the YOC, altho been riding Yams for nearly 40 years (god, how old am I...!) All Yams I've had were 2 strokes apart from a couple of fun years with an FZR1000R I had from new - lovely bike but not as good as the Fireblade I replaced it with (personal opinion!). Started with a 125 field bike, then a DT250MX which I passed my test on, then I bought a 350LC when they first came out, raced it a little, bought a 250LC to also race, sold them for a GPZ1100B1. Since then I've had numerous 350YPVS's at various times, and currently have a 350LC in bits (resto project), a 31k and just bought my first ever 500LC (never ridden one, and haven't been able to try thi…

Hi all, Seems like I got off on the wrong foot with my hello and question, so I will begin again. Greetings to all Yamaha owners. I'm a newbie here with a newbie bike - an SR 125 which I am going to take apart and rebuild. I trust everyone is well and enjoying the lovely dry weather we are having (if you happen to be in the UK), ideal for getting out and about on a bike. May take me a while until mine is ready Happy summer biking Lindsey

I thought I just drop in and introduce myself to you lot {bear with me, I’ll try and keep it brief}, my name is jimmy I’m 27 and I currently reside in the cambridgeshire area of the world. I am currently working as a machinist within a large engineering company based in east anglia and I have been riding motorbikes since late 2002 {but have had a passion for two wheels since day one}. I have had a range of motorbike all of which have been yamahas and I can’t really see me changing manufacturer anytime soon {can’t beat them for build quality and reliability}, I have loved every mile ridden on each of these bikes and I have never regretted getting any of them {selling t…

Hi guys, Fairly new to this forum but I have a question that has been bothering me for a few months. I took my Yamaha vity to the dealership to get the rear wheel checked over because I noticed I slight wobble to the rear wheel when engaging the throttle. The guy who checked it over said "not trying to sound funny but this is the cheapest Yamaha scooter you can buy so not everything is going to be perfect and said that the slight wobble is acceptable" As a newbie I took this as good advise and that I'm being picky but upon searching the forums relating to this topic I'm not so sure now. I check the rear wheel for play and there is no evidence of this but only see the w…

New to the site, so I wanted to stop in, say hello to everyone. So with that, hello to everyone! Never really been into bikes a whole lot, until recently, I'm more inclined to just watch TV or browse the web and play video games, duno what got me interested in bikes, but not going to question it, just haven't taken the plunge and bought one yet. I did recently see a (2001 year I think) DT125 R when I was browsing around online and loved the way it looks, so I've been looking around to see if they are even legal to import into the US, because I don't think they were ever sold here, at least I haven't seen one anywyay, not really into speed, so not worried about …

I bought a YBR 125 '08 a year ago and started biking merely as a means of getting around but came to really enjoy being on a motorbike. Figured it's about time I sign up here. Plus I do have a problem and I'm looking for some help as well. Thing is my bike is not starting. I put the key in and all the lights come on as normal however I don't hear the fuel pump priming. I have heard how leaving it in the sun can cause problems, however it's not that. I've put it in the shade, chucks many buckets of water on it, left to overnight, charged the battery and still the fuel pump won't prime. I should also mention that for the last 4 and half months the bike has not once …
