Hello all, I hope that you are having a good day, I just wanted to introduce you to my website that I have been putting together: https://www.thatbikesound.com/ I have been all around the country recording motorbikes using professional broadcast-grade sound and video equipment. I have used a fixed camera and microphone position to give an accurate sound comparison across all bikes on the website. Yamaha as a manufacturer is quite well represented on the site and I really hope that it will be of use or enjoyment to some people on here! (high quality speakers or headphones are recommended to get the true sound). https://w…

hello my names toby and ive recently started an bit of an overhaul on my very ratty ty250 pinky, which decide last week that it was officially dead after 19 years of abuse and salt air of the isles. So theres no doubt im gonna be on here a lot looking for bits or confirmation that bits of other bikes will work on it but the main reason im here is that i cant find the one bit that keeps my bike out of service: the cdi!!!! i was wondering if by any chance anyone knew of anywhere selling two stroke 250 cc cdis or has one for sale? that might work to get the engine going

Hi Everyone, My names Chris and I live up in shetland. I've got an 02 blue foxeye 600 and love my bike. I'm a member on several forums and am currently setting up a group buy for silicone hose coolant kits for the 98 - 03 fzs 600 fazer. The kits will be made by sfs performance who are a brilliant UK based company. They are giving us a large discount on the order and I thought i'd let you guys and girls know incase anyone was interested. We need a minimum of ten orders and we're just a couple of kits short of that so let me know if you'd like one. The cost for a 9 piece kit is £100 plus an £8 postage and packaging charge. There are several colours to choose from and …

Hi Everyone, I have just joined today. I'm from England but currently living in Vietnam. I bought a SR400 (Japanese import) back in February this year after a long time away from 2 wheeled transport! Still finding my feet a bit but luckily these old Yamahas are not so different to the old Brit iron I was used to. The bike runs fine but there are some electrical issues that I want to sort out. Hopefully a few people on here will have experience of these old bikes and their electrics. The bike is a 1998 model 3HTA even though the engine is stamped 2H6 which would indicate a 1978 model. The frame is a 1JR meaning it was made for the Japanese market in 199…

hi everyone I just recently purchased a 1982 sr 250 and have been riding without any problems. A couple of nights ago another rider asked me why it sounded the way it does. Hes never owned a yammy so he wasn't sure if the sound was right for this bike. I , too am unfamiliar with yammy sound this being my first. It does sound louder by the motor sort of like an automatic weapon the sound not coming from the exhaust but around the motor. I did have it inspected a couple of weeks ago and the inspector didnt mention anything about it, odd. Maybe hes unfamiliar with the sound this yammy should make. I looked at the oil level and it is at max, no leaks. Ive thought it could be …

Brand new to this site so thought I would say Hi. I have a '82 Yamaha XS1100 Maxim trike which I'm in the process of doing up. Don't know if this is the right place for info but does anyone know where I can get hold of a replacement tank? Looked everywhere and can only seem to find them in the States. Or are there replacement tanks out there that'll fit my frame? Thanks for your time!

Hi all, just a friendly hello Currently have a Yamaha Diversion 600 (1998) which other than a few niggles im really enjoying. I like my speed, as the divvy knows ... But I also love laid back touring so it would be nice to be around like minded individuals. Will see a few posts from me regarding brake calipers as mine is off the road from today due to two seized pistons in the rear and the caliper having a stress fracture from previous owner (I've had her 2 months and put less than 2k on clock). Speak to you all soon, and safe riding
