Hi there guys, I thought I would join the forum as I have a few yamaha bikes, a 1989 dt50mx which I'm restoring and a TTR250 open enduro The dt50 is my first restoration project, I brought it for 50 quid and have stripped it down to the bare frame, now cleaning up the engine and carb and hoping to get the frame and swing arm powder coated. I'd like to hear from anyone with experience with this bike as I'm more than likely going to come across a few issues! The TTR I brought as I always wanted one, I had a model of one as a kid withe purple rims and seat so when one came up for sale near me I just had to have it. Anyway i'm looking forwar…

Just wanted to stop in and say Howdy from North Texas. I've just recently purchased my 2nd Yamaha. I had a Kawa Voyager 1700 but decided that 1300 Venturer S suited my needs more and since my dealer had it on sale, I couldn't pass it up. So I'm official a Yamaha Owner again. I had a 1100 Star several years ago. This baby is packed, Cassette Player/FM/AM and a 6 CD Holder/Player in the back side trunk, CB Radio, hook-ups for a intercom system. It rides smoother then my Kawa did doesn't have the pick up that my kawa did, but the pluses outweigh the 1 neg by a long shot.

Hello everyone, I have been interested in motorcycles and have been riding since I was 12 years old. Not very exciting motorcycles at the start but the highlight came already in 1975 when I bought a 1974 Yamaha LS2. The following year I got my license for light motorcycle and bought my second LS2 and in 1977 it became the RS100 which was a step down from the LS2. There has only been one more Yamaha, XT500 which I bought used in 1987. There have been many motorcycles over the years. Today I have four motorcycles and just bought a XS500D that needs a lot of repairs. Lives with my wife in Lillestrøm Norway and has worked with cars all my life. I'm not very good at English, b…

Hi, my name is Dan and I live near Youngstown, OH. I have a 1968 Yahama YL-1 that was bought by my uncle and then was owned by my father. It hasn't left the garage in well over 30 years. My whole life I've wanted to get it back on the road, and I guess the time has finally come. The chrome is all pitted but otherwise it's in excellent shape and I don't think it will be much of a challenge at all to get it running. Only problem is that I know nothing about motorcycles. I've never even driven one. I do restore vintage Volkswagens for a living, though, so hopefully some of that will transfer over. I am sure this place will be a very valuable resource for …

Hi, I'm Dave and I've been riding my current Yamaha about 4 yrs now. It's an 83 XV500, had about 14,000 miles on it, and had been in storage for 14 yrs when I got it, has over 30k now. I love it! Did a 19hr run from Portland to San Diego (1120 miles) back in April, never skipped a beat. Started off back in 1970 with a 68 80cc, had a 72 XS2 and a 73 TX750 back in the 80/90s, and some Hondas and Suzukis along the way. Looking forward to new friends and swapping stories!

Hi all I'm new to this forum and found my way here via an article in Practical Sportsbike magazine. I've been riding since '94 ('93 if you count the honda moped) when I bought an RXS100 off a friend. I passed my test on that in '95 and bought a TZR125L in september of that year. In '98 I bought a Honda but was back with Yamaha again in 2000 when I bought a Thundercat, which I owned for 8 years and done a lot to and put a few miles on. 2008 saw me sell the 'Cat and buy a 955i, but 2010 saw in the Thunderace which I have today. Other hobbies include Radio control cars and helicopters. Recently moved so DIY is also on that list. No need to be gentle wi…
