Hello everyone, thanks for having a gander. Basic,y on my xt125 r I've been without a front brake for weeks and finally my master cylinders arrived. I replaced it and bled the system for well over and hour, still no pressure. So I kept filling the reserve up and with a tube on the bleed nipple I left it open and let gravity do its thing, still no bubbles just a constant flow. Again tried bleeding, no luck. So I wacked the calliper off and removed the pads, pushed the slave cylinder to the back, bled again, I saw that the slave cylinder is moving perfectly as I bleed it, tried it several times and it's simply working. I know how hydraulics work I'm studying engineering …

Hi all, I would just like to introduce myself, My name is Mark, I live in Easington, Durham and originally from Sunderland. I past my bike test in October 2011 and bought a 2010 black Yamaha XJ6S a few weeks later. As my bike was being unloaded off the van, my mate rang me to tell me he'd just dropped his bike on a round about after skidding on a patch of diesel. great start :$ About a month later I dropped mine in the work car park god knows how! I have have recently noticed that there are hundreds of loose block paving bricks (well thats my excuse) It cost about £250 for to replace a fairing. After that, I became a chicken and looked for excus…

My name is Scott. (Save is my initials). Have had many bikes throughout life in a rainbow variety old and new. The last 5 years have leaned only to being interested in the vintage stuff. Just recently sold a pair of RD 350s. Too old to go too fast anymore anyway. Well only 45 but that's what my 11 yr old daughter tells me Current project. Just got a clean all stock 1974 DT 125. Having shift probs. 2nd & 3rd fine but nothing else. Haven't done enough tinkering with it yet to ask for help. So I'll look around here for some past experiences and check it out proper and go from there Just wanted to say hello and thx for any future input. Apologies for the long intro.…

Hello there, very happy to find this forum. After almost 25 years bike less I got myself this beautiful 125 dragstar and love it to bits. I am not very experienced with mechanics or more electronics, so hope to find the odd answer to the odd question. I will of course try to help as well as much as possible with my at the moment limited knowledge... Living in the Sout-West of France makes biking a real pleasure, now we have already about 15 degrees, so of we go... Best regards, Syd

Hi all my names Stuart. Need help with a project I have started all info would be appreciated as my head hurts from trying to find it. Anyway what I have brought is a dt 125 we believe it's a 1977 model. Now what I am wanting to do is use it for classic motocross being a twin shock. I also want it to look like the mx125. I have brought various parts like the tank and the rear shocks already and I am currently stripping it down ready to restore. I've been trying to find out the main differences between the two and if anyone can help with any information it would be great. Anyway I am sure I will have lots life questions as I go along Many thanks

Gotta love forums like these. Terrific source for gobs of information. I'm trying to get my 750 to fire on a "IV" fuel line. (gas tank's no good.) Any tips? Ok, here's what I did - Used a piece of 1/4" clear plastic fuel hose to hook to the carbs (one per carb) about 10 inches long. Then I pushed the open end(s) each into a chunk of 3/8 id fuel rated hose, which became my "gas tank". Then, using a turkey baster (one of those long white plastic ones with a rubber squeeze ball on the end), I sucked up a load of (clean) gas. The tip of the baster fits perfectly into the 3/8 hose. I let the fuel gravity drain into the bowls (took about 3 "basters" each before they beg…

Hello all New boy with new tale of woe - hope it's not bad form to start this way.. I have in my brothers shed an Fz750 (88 vintage) that has MOT and runs well and an XJ550 with a Radian engine (XJ598) that doesn't (well not often). There's a GS500 waiting to be turned into DualSport too but that's another story. I'll continue the 'woe' in the workshop section.. Cheers

I am in the process of finalizing my decision on my 1st bike since my Penton 125 around 35 years ago. I was supposed to drive out and see and subsequently bring my new bike home this past week but hurricane Sandy changed my plans. I was hoping for some insights on the two bikes I have narrowed down to: 1979 XS750 Special with 40K mi 1981 XS650 Special II with 23K mi I wish to enjoy riding and just as important take care of and preserve a classic bike. Both are in great shape and riding condition and I like them both and are about the same price so it's a matter of just going with my gut but in case there is some words of wisdom from anyone I would appre…
