I'm a new member here cause I'll need some advise as I'm working on a 1981 XS850 Vetter Fairing and bags bike for a friend. I live in Roseneath, Ontario, Canada and for the past 6 years have been retired from my career in the insurance, reinsurance field. I then took a position part time with a Harley-Davidson dealer in their Parts Dept. Haved owned a Harley since 1967 and enjoy working on H-Ds as well as some of my buddies bikes (various makes).Currently own a 2009 Road Glide. Besides bikes I love golf and airgun shooting. My pride and joy is my 2008 Corvette which I drive (probably a bit too fast) on the great roads here in my neck of the woods. Looking …

Hi guys My name's John. I'm 29 and I'm new to riding. I've driven on 4 wheels for 10 years and finally gave into the urge for 2 wheels instead. I passed my CBT 2 weeks ago and picked up an absolute shed of a 1991 SR 125 which I'm hoping to get road worthy in the near future. It's going to be a long slog. I didn't call her Rusty without a reason. It's the first time I've done anything mechanical so I'm pretty much learning everything as I go... I'm eager to get her road-worthy and get the MOT passed!

  16. Started by Bassworm,

I got my very first bike back in 1975 as a spotty long-haired 17 year old, when I moved to London. It was a Yamaha U5E, a sort of 50cc step-through scooter and it was my first introduction to the world of biking. That was followed by a YB100, and then a YDS7 250. Then a crash ended it all for me, when a car driver turned right across me without indicating. Crunched my left hand up and wrecked the 250. As an apprentice engineer at Heathrow, on £7 a week there was no way I could repair or replace it so it stood rusting in my dad's back garden till he gave it away to someone who wanted to resurrect it. And that was the end of my biking. Didn't even get round to taking the te…

  18. Started by John W,

Hi people, I came across this site after searching for info, so thought I would join So about me. Well I started riding bikes at an early age, mainly trials. I passed my test in 81 but spent most of the 80s and 90s competing off road in trials and enduros. The bikes were road registered too, but never felt the need at that time to get a road bike. Got hooked on road bikes in 97 when I bought a new blade. I'm a bit of a petrol head so have a number of bikes, road, off road, classic and modern. I have an 08 R1 that I use solo, and a Ducati MTS1200 that we use for touring. Asside from the R1 I also have an early DT125 that just needs a seat base to be rid…
