Hi Guys I'm thinking of buying my first Yamaha. Initially I was leaning towards buying a R6 but now I'm leaning towards a MT-07 or a MT-09 as I will be using this bike as a daily commute to work. What are your guys thoughts. Do any of you guys use a MT-07 or a MT-09 as a daily commute? Any advise you can give me. If I go ahead with this decision I will be doing somewhere around 60km per day in the bike. Any advise or comment's are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi Everybody I am 68 this year and just got back onto two wheels. I have never had new bikes my last one being a 1984 Honda Nighthawk CB650SC - a good bike but spares getting hard/dear to get hold of. I have just bought a 1998 XJ600S Diversion, not the bike I wanted I would have preferred the 900 with shaft drive, but was within my price range. I am quite pleased with the bike apart from a vibration felt throughout the bike at around 3500 rpm. below and above the bike is quite smooth but my fillings suffer at this rpm. The bike has a non standard 4-1 exhaust system which sounds great ( the main reason I bought the bike ) but apart from that I assume the bike is standa…

Hello, out there! I'm new to biking, having done my CBT a month ago and since then bought a 2002 SR125, which I love. It's really encouraging to have come across such a friendly and encouraging site for Yamaha owners. I know nothing - nothing! - about the mechanics of the machinery, but have my Haynes manual and hope to learn in time. I think for the first times though when anything goes wrong it'll be a case of taking Mildred to a real mechanic and looking on and learning. (Might be soon - she keeps cutting out in first gear. The last thing a novice rider needs at busy junctions...) Anyway, very pleased to make your acquaintance!

Hello, I am Mark. I have recently bought a Yamaha XVS125 after my 'wannabe' Daelim Daystar was stolen and torched. I am, however, extremely happy with the new bike and will be looking to buy something similar but bigger for the summer. I use the bike to get between University and work everyday as juggling the two can be quite stressful with 10 miles between. Anyway, I thought I would introduce myself and hopefully my vague mechanical experience can be of some use to someone. Thanks. Mark

Hello all, J-Rod here from Canada. I have had 2 bikes in my life and thought i would get another as the itch was starting to turn into a rash. I always liked the looks ot the FJ's so i just purchased a 1989 FJ600. It's not running yet as it needs a new battery. The fellow i bought it off of said it will need a carb cleaning so i have that to look forward to. Never did one before but i think i have the partience for it. Well just wanted to say hello. Cheers, J-Rod.

Hi My name is Morne. Ive recently bought myself a Yamaha XR350 1997. I have never ridden a big bike before, always just small automatics. Mostly this was the sort of tourist bikes you get in Greece on Thailand etc. So Im not sure how things work here exactly, but Im going to probably ask quite a few questions through the course of time. Starting off with something that happened last night on a training ride. I rode for probably 20km and was just around the corner from home. I turned onto a small street and accelerated quite mildly and shifted into second. Again accelerated mildly. I wasnt going fast and the revs was not really high. I dont know what I did but …

Good evening, and "Hello" from another new member. I'd thought I'd take a couple of minutes to introduce myself. My Nickname on here is GillsBoy. I've been a keen biker since 1977 and have had various makes and models, but have always favoured Yamahas since my very first FS1E. I sold my last bike - an FZR1000 Exup back in 1988 to raise funds for a house move. I've been desperate for another bike ever since, but there have always been other priorities (like a mortgage!!). Anyway, job, mortgage and children now permitting, I'm finally back on two wheels. And, just like London buses, with not one bike, but two! I bought a red 2002 YZF-R6 back in March. It has …
