  1. Hiya chaps & chappettes. First time here in the yamaha Owners Club. Whilst I'm not yet an owner, I am going today to purchase a scooter. I know very little about it - but I do know a) it's about 1970 it's got compression, and the spark plug's still in - no spark however c) it looks OK for it's age d) I'm mechanically apt - so I should be able to get it going Some pics here: and the other side I'm not paying too much for it - the fella just wants to get rid of it. I've done it before -taken a chance. I bought this old dirt bike for $70 and got it up and running, and a classic Kawasaki road bikeand got it up and running on the…

G'day all, Just stumbled on in to the forum here thought I would say hi! I'm 28 and from the Sunburnt land... Adelaide, South Australia to be exact. Started my motorcycling career on Old Kawasaki GPz's but have accumulated a collection on Yamaha 2-strokes all in dire need of a little TLC. I have a habit of picking up things on their way to the wreckers and trying to give them some life again. Current shed consistes of Yamahas - 1985 RZ500 (RD500 in the US i think) 1980 DX100 1977 YB100 1975 L2G Kawakas - 1984 GPz750 (Air Cooled) 1985 GPz600R Currently the DX100 and YB are my main focus (coz they are cheapest , but also the only 2 …

Lucked out last August when a good friend sold me a solid 1985 XJ900n. It a naked bike, but I would like to get a small screen. Part of the deal was that I also take away an almost complete 84 model 900. Thinking of full restore of existing "n" model and maybe rebuiulding the other as a club day track bike.

I have 2 DT175's (1993 & 2002) I bought the 2002 model new for myself back in 2002 & I bought the the 1993 model a couple of days ago for my son. He also has a YZ125 & I have a PW80 for my 2 little ones. We have always been happy Yammy riders/owners & would like to get into it a bit more so I thought joining YOC might be a good place to start. I dont belong to any other groups & I am very new to this so please forgive any shortcomings. I look forward to reading what others have written in 'threads' & maybe posting a couple myself Thanks for the welcome Regards drdazzz

  7. Started by Mini-biker,

Good Morning all, What a lovely day (at least down here in the usual wet & windy west Wales!!) Hmmm... a little about myself, well I am very little (5ft on a tall day) and I have just bought myself a Virago 125 (Ok, I know it isn't a big-boy bike, but I am learning as fast as I can.... I have the bruises to prove it ) Looking forward to being able to get out on the road properly and re-live my first memory of being on a bike, but this time I get to be in control!! Only passed my CBT a week ago, so I'm still a newbie and a little wobbly when going slow, but the bug is seriously setting in!!

  8. Hi everyone! I am joining the forum in hopes of receiving some help with building an electrical system. I am wanting to take a 75 MX400 and turn it into a supermotard. As far as electrical goes, all I want is the bare minimum to pass inspection. In Texas, I think this would be a headlight, taillight, brakelight and maybe a high beam indicator. I have had this project in mind for several years. While doing some research, I came across Neo's thread on coverting his DT to 12V and figured I would join. Electrical is certainly my weakest area.

Hi all. My names josh and i just found something i'm really enjoying spending time with. Haven't had much sleep lately, don't want to. Missus is jealous as f@ck which is really amusing to watch. I wake up in the morning beaming with enthusiasm and motivation. I really want to not go to work anymore cos work sucks and now i have something at home i want to spend my day with. I found it at a deceased friend of a friends estate in a not so well organised junkyard. It's not working and i want to fix it. Never done it before and don't have any idea what i'm doing, but that has never stopped me before. Any help would be awesome. Even i might learn something i can help with. …

Hi All I'm Daz, from Surrey and pick up my '87 FZR1000 Genesis on saturday. Always loved the Endurance style twin headlight look from the 80's and the FZR seemed to fit spot on. I've had lots of Yams over the years, starting with a Fizzy and taking in RD250's,350's and a cool old coffin tank 400 up to an early R1. I've taken a year out from biking after racking up 65,000 miles on my FZ6, using it as a 300 mile a week commuter all year round, turned it from my shiny pride and joy into a wreck and kinda jaded me using it for pleasure at weekends. the FZR, is strictly a toy and won't be pounding up and down the salt laden motorways! heres a pic of the outgoing bike and I'…
