Hello all! Names Rian, from Atlanta, Illinois. 20 yrs old and just bought a 78 xs400E (my first bike). Practically stole it at auction so I've got a lot more cash to put into it than I first thought. Really pumped to start learning more about it, along with cafe'ing the crap out of it

Hi, Currently not a yam owner ( I did have a XJ6 many years ago though). I have been looking at a Virago that has come up for sale. I live in Cheshire and ride out to Wales etc. However a quick google has flagged up a potentially big problem in that some electronic device (CDC or something) fails with age and once it fails you have no choice but to scrap it off, can this be right? Thanks in anticipation, Ian

I'm sure I'll be asking a bunch of dumb questions, attempting to learn some mechanics. My first question is this: I purchased a vintage numbers matching 1981 yamaha xt250h for my fiance', I need to find an aftermarket carburetor to replace the stock carb on her bike, any ideas on what model is compatable? I appreciate any advice.

Hello everyone, I've just joined. I've just bought a Thundercat that has been stood for about 18 months after the guy got made redundant. My plan is to restore it, improve the handling without compromising comfort too much and to get 100+ bhp at the back wheel. Can any one give me some advise please on what works and what doesn't etc please. I've just come out of a failed relationship with an FJ 1200 that turned into a money pit and I don't want to make the same mistake again. I have more ambition that talent when it comes to doing bikes, lol. So any good advise would be much appreciated thanks

Hi all, Just bought a Thundercat as my first big bike! I am four months from the end of my 33bhp restriction and need some help finding the kit! I realise I can chance it and ride without but I came from a Suzuki Intruder 125 cruiser so I'd like the beast tame for at least a little while!! If anybody has some cheap restrictor washers please let me know! £200 is a rip for a few months use and I am struggling to find any second hand!! Also if anybody with a set of washers would be kind enough to measure them I am able to make a set for myself. Cheers

Seeing as I've been browsing this site for 6 weeks or more and posting the odd reply, thought I'd say hello and tell you a bit about my motoring history. Been riding bikes since before I was 16 (had an elder brother who had bikes and he had friends with bikes) and started my "official" biking life with an FS1E-DX in yellow. P reg I think and I thought it looked like the dogs bits, especially with the addition of a cockfit fairing and drop bars which did nothing for performance but did keep me a bit drier! A year or so later I graduated to an RD125DX in metallic red, which was a sweet little twin, that had a bit of performance but struggled 2 up. Having endured on…

My 2008 Tmax decided to lock the front and took me off on Christmas eve at 65mph under moderate braking, playing around with it since it seems to lock a little easier on the front than I am used to. Anyone ever experienced anything like this on theirs ? Am thinking it could be a hydraulioc caliper/brake issue, perhaps some kind of wear
