Hi all, I'm from the wild west of Ireland, currently without a bike, but passed my test about a year ago. Plan is to get my hands eventually on an XJ600 or similar as a commuter to start with. For years have loved the thought of touring Scotland, up around the lake district looks absolutely beautiful. This may be slightly longer term plan as I have a couple of wee wans to fend for at the minute. Anyway bit the bullet and got the test out of the way last summer as I've got to start somewhere. Hope I'm welcome, (all be it premature without a bike).....

I've just joined the forums and my reason for doing so is pretty clear. After a year of riding a 125cc I have finally upgraded to a nice 2001 yamaha fazer. and it was love at first ride. Yet to name her though, I think after a week of riding and getting a feel for her I'll have a name. I like doing work to my bikes as I think its part of being a biker so i'll no doubt use this forum to ask pled and possibly beg for assistance while i rip out hair. Only thing I have planned to do to the bike at the moment is apply a jack up kit as previous owner was a short ass. Good riding, and i'll no doubt talk to you guys more.

Evening all thought it would be prudent to post an intro since i have signed up. I passed my test last friday and obtained a 97 XVS 650 custom from a lad at work (my boy was quite chuffed) with a knackered final drive yip, a bit chewed sourced a 95 535 virago complete hub, shaft and worm gear for a mere £50 in excellent condition (the oil was still crystal clear when i split the drive out and fitted it into the 650 hub. All set and got 8 mile into the trip home and, well it broke down (fortunately a friend was not far away so kept me company for a couple of hours until another mate saved the day with his van) It …

Hi guys, long time lurker. I have received plenty from the site already and look forward to being able to give anything back if I can. Current bikes are: 1976 FS1E 1979 XS 400 Custom 1979 XS 400 1984 XS 400 DOHC 1978 XS 250 x2 1979 XS 250 1982 XV 750 2004 TTR 250 And (there is always one Black Sheep) a 1979 Suzuki GT250X7 I probably have some more log books that have come with the masses of spares I have collected to keep them going. I cannot afford to keep them all on the road but always have at least three ready for those rare sunny days.

Hi, I just joined today, perhaps I should feel a fraud for I'm mainly on here in pursuit of troubleshooting advice and my choice for Yamaha was purely based on economics and not brand loyalty to a brand I know nothing about. Aha essentially its my first bike and hell I guess I should probably start reading up more on bikes so maybe I will stick around. I'm more of a romance junkie than an adrenaline junkie and consequentially in my head a motorbike can only be termed as the manifestation of my liberty which my mind seems to crave more so than adrenaline and much else and so I couldn't resist buying a bike much to the horror of my mother. So yea those are largely the term…

Hello! I just have noticed that I did not introduce myself while owning a YBR 125. So it's time to say hello after chainging the motorcycle. Since a few weeks the YBR 125 is gone. She's got replaced by a '95 XJ 600 S Diversion. The Diversion needs a lot of tlc. I bought her from the first owner and she was standing in a barn for the last 4 or 5 years, only being taken out for approx. 500 km - in those 4 or 5 years. Rust here, need of replacement of other parts there - but very cheap. Unfortunatly the previous owner was not only doing less in the last years - he was also doing a little too much in the first years. He took a brush and some red pain…
