If any of you remember at the end of summer I completed my dragster bobber build and had it mot'd and on the way home the engine broke. This is such an understatement as everything that could of broke with the engine did lol. After a lot of swearing and asking for help and advice Robo (member of this group) came round to mine to lend a hand he got the bike running but it didn't sound good so we took the engine apart and realised that the previous owner must have known nothing about motorbikes and abused this bike no end, the engine was f&£ked and beyond repaire. My girlfriend had to use water before the winter hit hard to top up here coolant tank/reserve. We now have new coolant, but can't work out the best way to drain it. I personally think unbolting it, is the best idea, the lady thinks siphoning?? any thoughts, videos, sarcastic comments fire away. oh and hello i'm evel, and i'm new.

Hello I'm new to the club and was wondering if there is a way to tell the year of an engine I have off a DT 125 so I can buy parts for it?

I brought a 2003 dt 125 of a friend thats used as a field bike. while he had it he chopped all the wires from the ignition, took all the front fairing off!now the power valve or power band (which one im not sure) isnt working!when the wires was cut and the bike was kicked over, a relay on the back of the bike started clicking. is this anything to do with why its so gutless? any help would be nice

hi i hope some can help i have a dt 125 r 1988 the headlight works when the bike is running but no rear light i have checked the blub thats ok . also i have no brake lights and no horn or neutral light with the ignition switched on has anyone got any ideas please thanks mat

hello my name is michael from eastbourne - i have just recently purchased a yamaha dt 125 x 2006. i have just fitted a new battery and plugs and its also just been serviced and mot'd, but sometimes it wont start and its sluggish top end any idea's what it could be?? thanks for your time..... :crazy:

hi people!!!, does anyone know how to do wiring on a 1998 dt 125r, a bought the bike as a runner but guess what I got ripped off royally!!! spent a fortune on engine, new bearings, seals, conrod, crankshaft!!, just rebuilt whole bottom end and I thought would see if a spark but none, does the wires on the head stop it from sparking coz not got head on yet just worried, nae good with electrics

Hi all i have just purchased an DT175 1980 model UK import the bike is in almost show room condition , hope to be a fair weather rider and go to a few meets .

Just bought myself a DT400e (1978) in rough condition for full resto. Just ordered up a full parts and also copy of a Yamaha engineering workshop service manual -I have found these two items invaluable in the past! Engine main bearings are shot - I am a pretty confident home mechanic, is this a task realistically achievable or am i better farming out to a specialist / who are they (I live in Newark, Notts)? Hi all new here and wondered if anyone can help. I am currently restoring a 1987 Yamaha DT 50 MX for my son, its coming together but wheels really rough and was looking for a spoke set 5J0 2510400 (front) I was informed this product is discontinued. I have tracked down a set of spokes in USA for a DT50 but does not state MX. The US part Number is 17W- 25104-00-00 I am worried this will be wrong thing as it just doesn't list a MX. Says it will fit 1988 DT50 L, 1988 DT50 LC, 1988 Enduro DT50 U, 1989 Enduro DT50 W, 1990 DT50 LC (CA ED) and a 1990 Enduro DT50 A Can anyone give me any guidance on different part numbers..... are 5J0 and 17W the same thing just different …

Hi, I heard you can cut open a stock exhaust to remove restrictors, does anyone have any info on this, for example whats inside and where to cut it open, or pictures would be helpful. Thanks, Chris

hello i have a dt x 125 i have jus put a new starter motor an spark plug on to the bike but yet its still not starting jus gettin a whurling sound like there is no spark??? any ideas please ???? thanks rob
