Hi all, I have just found this forum having just restored a 1 owner 7k miles TZR125 (1988). Previously I have had FS1E's, RD350 ypvs, XJ600, as for other makes I have had Suzuki GP100, X7 & RG500,kawasaki GPZ600R & GPZ900R plus numerous others. I'm 43 live in Faversham, Kent. Hi all!! Names Terry but many call me Turbo, live in the black country (West Mids) and i'm terribly close to 30! bit the bullet and ordered a brand new yzfr125 today! Never had a bike before so havent even done my cbt yet but getting it all done and planning on collecting my new bike on my 30th Birthday in may! Greetings to all, especially the ladies! Made the jump, took the class, and now I have a bike! Today I just bought a set of bikes, a 1978 and a 1979 Yamaha XS400. One runs, the other is close to it. I agreed to take the spare bike in the transaction so I could learn how to do my own work and repairs, but not screw up my transportation in the process. I've been carless for a couple of years, thinking that would help the earth last a little longer... and now I'm tired of riding the crappy, late buses and powering a pedal bike. Hey, so I just bought my first motorcycle, a 1980 Yamaha XS400 Special for $400. The guy I bought if from said that it ran on one cylinder only. He cleaned the carbs then it ran fine for a day, then went back to only one cylinder. I haven't been able to start it up, since the battery is dead, it's charging now. I don't know...anything, really, about motorcycles, so wish me luck. hi my name is jacob i am 15 live in texas and had just started to learn to ride on a 1973 honda xl100 but dont have access anymore to it so i just aquired two old yamahas! what i got is a 1971 yamaha JT1 j mini enduro that i am going to get running first becouse requires the least work and money. the other bike is a 1975 DT 175 a that will be a long term project so i can ride on the road when i am 18. i am trying to figure out what the "j" for the JT1 and the "a" for the DT 175 means. any help would be great.

New to the site. I have a 1982 Maxim XS 400 J. I've owned it since 86. It sat the last couple years since I upgraded to a bigger cruiser and needs a little bit of tweeking to get running sweet again, so that's why I joined this site. Hope to get some help/tips to get on it again. Thanks in advance.

hi everyone new to site just sold my 03 r1 for a fazer 1000 starting to train learners for there CBT r1 not to good at doing 30 mph for two hours following a learner!! will miss it though

Hi All, Just joined, have had numerous bikes over the years, growing up in the 70's starting with an old FS1E and moving on from there,over the last few years I have enjoyed buying the odd old bike and doing them up, ridding them round for a while then selling when the next project comes along, at the moment I have a XJ750 built in 1984 but first registered abroad so it's an import, but it's in pretty good nick for it's age just hasn't been used for at least the last 9 years, so a bit of work required, and some bits, will post some photos when I can.

Hi all! How is everyone? I need some help please!!! I have a Yamaha YBR 125 55 plate. I went out on her tonight and everything was fine until on the return journey home, i tried to put her into fourth gear and she just wasn't clicking in. So i reduced her speed and put her into second gear fine and then back up into third but when i tried again to put her in fourth it wouldn't go in. I have managed to get home safely and she is going down gears fine and into neutral but will not click into fourth. Can any one help to shed some light on this problem and how i may go about fixing it please. Many Thanks Sianny
