Hello everyone! New owner of a 1979 XS 750 SF. Still waiting for the title from our Dept. of Motor Vehicles. Last register was 2000. I am from Washington state in the USA. First time bike owner, long time wanting. I have just purchased the Clymer guide. The bike runs, but it appears to have an oil leak at the head gasket front left and none of the lighting works. Any ideas on where to start would be helpful. Hope to be as helpful as I can as a new member as well. Thank you for all your help.

Just wanted to say hey to everyone. I have been lurking for a few weeks trying to get my recently acquired bike going. This site has already been a wealth of information for me and I appreciate the prompt responses and knowledge you all have to offer. I will be posting a few questions on one of the technical boards and any help would be wonderful. Thanks for any help and all y'all do. Cheers, Shawn.

Many apologies I don't do many forums, I'm not only new to forums but i'm also new too both Yamaha bikes & motorbikes generally, bit of a late starter, 44! Started with the intention of doing direct access, combination of things mean't I have decided to leave direct access and start on a 125 which I bought on 0% which is good and 2 years warranty even better, build a bit of expierence and no claims hopefully before having another go at my bike test either 125 or big bike not sure yet but at least I can get some hours in first on this and who knows what bike I may have in a year. Really enjoy my 125 pottering about the countryside of Shropshire.

Hello, A strange story brings me here... So I'll start from the beginning! I've been shooting with a family friend who owns a farm for around a year now, and as a summer holiday project I was planning to design and build my own go-kart. Anyway I dropped this in conversation with him, and he said he had an old DT175 sat in one of the old farm buildings not doing anything. He told me everything apart from the engine was knackered, and that he was planning to scrap it so if I wanted it for the go-kart, it was mine! Anyway when he dropped it off on first inspection everything looked a lot better that originally described. The engine was purring away really nicely f…

Hi Folks, Just sitting down with my first cuppa of the evening having ridden home on my first ever Yamaha (99 Fazer FZS600) ..... in fact, my first ever non 125cc bike I sold my great wee Vara 125 at 7pm and then went up to collect the Fazer at 8pm. It was a great feeling to pass on the Vara to another biker in the making while I was graduating to bigger (and faster) things!! I know this may seem like small potatoes to the experienced bikers on this site, but to this 37 yr old born again biker, riding home on a bike that seemed happiest in sixth gear (whatever that is) was roughly akin to man's first step on the moon, seeing my 4 children born and watching Rocky …

Hey everyone, I always thought I was already member here until I tried logging in to post on a forum topic and had to search my email for a username/password only to find out that I was a yamaha FZ6 club member and not a YOC member, and I dont even own an FZ6 LOL! Moving on, I've owned a 1989 Yamaha YX600 (Radian) for about 4 years now and I have also owned a 1987 FZ600 that was really just a wrecked bike that I took parts off of for the Radian lol. But I learned a bunch about my bike in the process of tearing down the FZ600. Since then I'v done a few small mods to the Radian (oil cooler, l.e.d Litghting, horns etc) And I also make videos of my bike and post t…

Hello, My name is Tom. I just signed up and dropped in to say Hi before I start browsing around. Looks like a good site. Looking forward to getting aquainted. Got my first Yamaha, a YM-1 50 cc at the age of 13, upgraded to a YL2-C 100 a year or two later, and still ride it occasionally. Currently attempting to clean up and tune my 1974 TX500A after it sat neglected a few too many years. I also own a Honda 700 Nighthawk, (85) which I converted to touring configuration, with fairing, which I rode to Alaska a few years ago, and recently aquired a BMW R-100 airhead for my wife and I to wander around on. Thanks in advance for your hospitality, Tom
