Hi all just purchased 1975 dt250,not running. After a lot of cleaning and late nights I have got it running, but will only idle for a few seconds.I cleaned the points and it ran better but still a lot spitting, backfiring.I plan on changing the points to see if that's the problem? Can't find any body that knows what size of flywheel puller I need ,or were I can get one? Any suggestions? Thanks

Purchased my first Yamaha: 1976 RS100C. The bike is in very good condition and I don't plan on a major restoration effort. I've rebuilt the carb and replaced a few items, but it is running. My next project is to replace the tires. The bike came with a 2.5-18/front and 2.75-18/rear. The Owner's Manual says these were the proper tires, but my Haynes Workshop Manual says 2.75-18/front and 3.00-18/rear. Can anyone tell me which is correct and/or recommended. Thanks, Bob

Hi, I was browsing the net in search of a wiring diagram for my '06 TDM 900, and I ended up here. I had never heard of this forum and I thought I'd give it a go. I am an active member of lestrixeux.fr which is a TRX850 dedicated forum, so I know that making a proper presentation is always nice before asking for help. And so here goes. I'm 47, Walloon (French speaking Belgian), I've ridden bikes my whole life. I wish I could say all of them were Yamahas, but come to think of it, as I have owned something like 30 bikes ranging from Ducati to Moto-Guzzi, and from Honda to Kawasaki, it would be pretty sad for me if had never had a look somewher…

Hi all New to this forum and just posted elsewhere so I thought I'd put my gripe up on the New Members area too. I have a 1977(poss 78) Yamaha RS 125 DX. Headlamp bulbs last less than a mile before the high beam pop shortly followed by the dipped. My mechanic has checked all the wires and corrected some earthing errors but it continues to happen. He has as good as washed his hands of it now. He did sugest the regulator could be at fault but I cant find mention of it anywhere in Haynes or on the web. Even Yambits who are generally good for parts don't know where it is. They are insistent that it is not built into the rectifier. Does it even exist?? I assume it…

Hey everyone my name is AR! I'm excited I found a cool forum that can help me gain experience in bike building. I've always loved the old school look of cafe racers and the new school look of street tracker. So I finally gave in and bought my first little project bike about a month ago which is a 1979 Yamaha DT125. Looking forward to reading other peoples forums! Cheers!

Just thought I'd say hello from not so sunny BC Canada. The Canucks WILL win the Stanley Cup this year and I just bought a used MT 01..12000 Kms with Sato pipes, Power Commander, Carbon air scoops and a left leaky fork seal......all for $7500 Canadian. You see so few of these anywhere and none in the US and it seemed to be the right bike/price and time. I'll read through the site and will no doubt be using the forums knowledge through the weeks ahead.

Hi all I'm Swedish and have been riding bikes since last year. It all started by purchasing a moped for my son, and I realised that I had been missing the workshop as in my garage. Bought an old CB750 that I overhauled and use as much as possible. Then I bought an 82 XJ650 that I am restoring just now. It is more or less ready but it runs like crap on low revs and I need ether to start so I will make a valve adjustment and a third time carb clean Lives in Sweden with wife and two sons who both plays hockey. My life s fantastic! If you have any awesome tips for my xj please do not sit on it! Thanks!

  18. Started by Nacho,

Hello, My name is Nacho and I just got my first bike - a 1969 AT1. Needs minor cosmetic work, but it is a real cherry. Actually, while I'm introducing myself, I may as well ask a question to some people with expertise. The manufacturer's label on the front of the frame says that my bike was made in '69, but the serial numbers on the engine and frame go to the 1970 model and it's painted Performance Yellow like the '70 models (it had been painted, but that's the color it was when the original owner purchased it). Can anyone explain why that may be? Thanks, and it's great to be a member!

Hello all, At 40 I decided recently to do my CBT and have bought a YBR 125. I'm working towards full licence now doing Direct Access. I'm really enjoying the little YBR, using it to commute on and at every other opportunity. I've put nearly 600 miles on it in 3 weeks. I should have done this years ago.
