Hey all, just a quick hello. Joined the forum as a reference guide and to maybe pick someone's brains from time to time as I have no idea what to do when it comes to spanners/wrenches and spark plugs!!! I'm far from a grease monkey but i do like to have a go at anything I can. I bought my beloved Yamaha Aerox 50 scooter back in 2006 new out of the showroom in Alicante in Spain where I was living at the time. Then after a year I headed back to my homeland, sunny England, where i found that the weather wasn't too favourable for 2 wheels so opted to store it in the garage for the next 5 years, then work opportunities found me moving to the Bahamas where I currently resid…

Hi There everyone, I'm writing just to introduce while i am waiting excitedly for the evil bay auction on (hopefully) my new xs400 engine. I have been around bikes and cars for most of my life, now accumulating some 45 (old) cars. Bikes have only been a fun outlet till recently falling in love with a 1980 xs250, I spent months cleaning, polishing, rebuilding and modifying this bike to a standard i was happy to be seen on, only to have it all destroyed by a lovely lady who thought bikes were meant to give way to traffic cutting across their path???!?!?!?? Anyway a few weeks have past and i have decided to repair and rebuild my latest toy.....again! Luckily I was ab…

I picked up a DT50m or possibly an mx model last week, i was walking past my girlfriend who was sitting at the laptop on facebook when i glanced out of the corner of my eye the distinct shape of a long lost lover in one of the photographs in the chat page she was on. Ha, i hear you say, he is going to cheat on his missus - no youre wrong, i had a closer look over her shoulder and saw that it was the afore mentioned DT50. which happens to be the first motorcycle that i ever owned and therefore the bike that took my pavement pounding virginity . Being that i was only 13 at the time one of my mates suggested that we should swap my DT for a Datsun 120y car which after a fe…

hi all, recently got myself a little treat and 05 xvs1100 silverado and loving it. just wanted to do my first post and let people know im about in the new forest. olie https://youtu.be/RsN1sYQfqpE a little walk around of my bike, its a 2005 v-star silverado. i got it bone stock, one owner dealer maintained with 7500 miles 🤯 ive since done the following - service obviously, new avon cobra chrome whitewalls, 4" forward control extensions, removed the sissy, pillion and saddle bags, put a stock pipe back on it as it had a jardine loud pipe which was a bit much for my taste and given it fecking good clean and most importantly ridden it!

Hiya from a 'mature' motorcycle enthusiast in County Durham.. Been a member for a wee while but mainly for the reading of various interesting topics... After a few drinks yesterday and browsing Ebay on 'tinternet in the pub I came across a semi complete Turbo kit for an FZR1000.. Trauma is... I won it.. Suffice to say - As soon as it arrives my tired old FZR will be getting a little attention paid to it. Looks like I'll be chucking more than a few hours overtime in at work to finance it. Any input will be appreciated as soon as I get started and hopefully I'll try to keep the work well documented with pics and a few choice words when things start going together..…

Hi everyone! I'm a 33-year-old married woman with a soft spot for older bikes that you don't see running around every day. We currently own a 1989 Hawk NT650 GT, 1983 XZ550 Vision, 1989 FZR400, and as of yesterday a 1979 DT125F project bike. My husband and I have three small kids, so projects are something that don't necessarily get done over the weekend. We are about to overhaul a Chevy 350...the DT is in line after that. Ah well, I've waited several years for this project - I can wait another few weeks, right? RIGHT???

Hi all, I'm a new member to this forum but do contribute to carpeTDM (World of knowledge for TDM's & highly recommended for anyone who has a TDM) on a regular basis. I've recently acquired a 1975 DT175 that was imported from the USA and has stood in someone's garage for 12 months. I'm looking to restore it as believe it or not it is almost rust free, so far I've stripped it down to the chassis and have not come across 1 rusted fastner. I'm pretty sure that it's a 1975 model from the research I've done, BUT from the 1 part I have ordered which is the ignition barrel the mounting points don't seem to line up with the top yoke, my points on the yoke seem to be f…

Hi everyone, Been lurking here for a little while but I though it was about time I started subjecting you to my personal brand of prattishness (if that isn't a word, it should be) I've got an '02 XVS 125 which I picked up about May of last year and she's been my daily commuter in all weathers ever since, in fact the only days I haven't ridden are when she's in the shop for a service and during the TT last year; I'd been riding for two weeks at the time so decided to play it safe and keep out of the way. This year I'm hoping to actually do a lap on Mad Sunday though... we'll see. I'm pretty sure I heard once that the rarest Harley is one that's still stock and …

Hi, my name is highsign and I have a motorcycle addiction. As a child I lived upstairs of my fathers Triumph/Norton dealership in Youngstown Ohio. This started my obsession with motorcycles and 55yrs later I still can't get this monkey off my back. The Yamahas I currently own are: 87FZR750RT, 85RZ350, 94YZF750R and 09RI. Thanks for listening.
