Hi everyone, I have just bought my first ever yamaha, its an XJR400 Grey import, I'm buying it off my dad and its in pretty good condition, I just wanted to post around and find out if anyone knows anything about them, reviews and information seem pretty scarce.

  4. Hello all, my name is Rich, 38, and I thought I would join the Yamaha world. I Have recently bought a Thunderace, and to be honest, the guy must have seen me coming ! It is not very well at all, rear shock had no oil in it, forks only compress about 60mm, temp gauge doesn't work, EX-UP valve seized, exhaust end can is held on with a jubilee clip that doesn't actually do anything ! On the plus side, it has only done 25,000 miles with every mot form new to back it up, and loads of service history. So the bike has now become a project now lol. So I look forward to maybe meeting some of you, and lots of advice as I go though the project, thanks for reading.

Hi, just bought my first Yamaha, a Cygnus X for my commute to the train station daily. Very impressed with the scooter so far, glad so far that in the end that i didn't go down the Vespa route. Will be looking for tips about the bike, what the best online spare parts resources are, what the best service manual is etc etc.

  6. Started by Jonross,

Hey guys and girls, my name is Jon and I'm new to bikes sort of. I've ridden lots when I was younger off road and now the time has come where I cannot egnor the fact I don't have a licence anymore. I have done my coarse and mod1 and just waiting on a date for the mod2. I stupidly failed the mod1 on my coarse and had to do them again. A silly mistake I didn't even need to make but hey ho. I want to get an early r6 and I thought as I don't know much about the bikes and good and bad bits and also their customisation limits, so I thought it best to join you good people. I'll be going full member on pay day which is coming up soon. I do have a que…

Just thought I would say hi to the forum, I'm Andy. Loads of info on here, great site guys! Have some questions and hoping the gurus can solve this one but I'll ask it in the right category. Rode dirt and trials a lot in the youth and trying to get back into it but forgot a lot of the mechanical side of things...lol Cheers!

  12. Started by oldirtbikes,

Just joined this group - looks like plenty of intertesting stuff here. I've had bikes on and off for many years; British, Japanese and Italian. I currently have a garage full of bikes and bits including a DT250MX which I've been rebuilding for far too long! Looking forward to getting involved in general chat and technical matters - hope I can be of help to somebody and perhaps you'll be able to help me too. Bye for now.

Just joined the forum and thought I'd say hi! I passed my CBT october'13 but only just got my first bike. Got a 2001 Yamaha SR125 and very pleased with it. She needs a bit of a clean up that's all. Gunk and bits of rust on the chrome mainly so any advice on tidying up will be most welcome

  16. Started by YamaDude,

Thanks for letting me join your group! I am looking forward to sharing your collective wisdom, and hopefully bringing something to the group! I have around 50 motorcycles, primarily vintage enduros and motocross bikes. I used to race Suzuki TM125s/250s/400s back in the day, and I imagine I am trying to recreate my childhood. (No one has ever done that, right?) Anyway, I've been specializing in Yamaha DTs and RTs lately, but just picked up a Yamaha 125 YAS1C, and know NOTHING about them. I didn't even like them until I saw this one. I have all kinds of ideas running around in my head about what to do with it, but it is so insanely complete, anything short of a full rest…

Hey, To begin with, Yamaha is my first bike ever, so been doing research to choose the right bike quite a time especially for supermoto. So got myself a new friend XT125X 11' which needs much love and new parts. Bought it as salvage, thought to be an cheaper option, but as it looks it won't be that way. Atleast I will be able to build it how I like Future plans: new exhaust (aftermarket), bar end mirrors, renthal bar, some TLC to get on road. How it sits now:
