Hi All Hopefully one of you guys maybe able to help....I am having problems starting the DragStar...had the electric starter motor changed, about two years ago and it cost nearly £700 to replace...the bloody thing has gone again, I think! When I try to start the bike it just clicks....it tried to fire once but it was a really lame attempt! Does anyone have any ideas, other than throw the bloody thing in the Thames...what can be done or if a non-Yamaha part can be used to replace it? We went for the Yamaha part before, because we thought it would last longer, but it hasn't! I used my bike everyday to go to and from work and it has really dropped me in the crapper, by …

Hello I'm Michael from London - I've been riding a Yamaha SR125 (1993) for a couple of years, my first bike and I love it (despite being constantly overtaken by the lowliest of scooters). My clutch cable just snapped for the second time in a year - it seems to tighten up, and then this puts too much strain on the ball bearing at the lever end which comes clean away from the cable. Very frustrating when this happens 5 miles from home! Does anyone have any experience with this problem? What can I do to prevent the cable tightening up and breaking like this? And can anyone recommend a good supplier for a new one? Thanks.

Hi Guys, Im Kyle, live in Newcastle and bought my first bike last year a 2007 yamaha YBR 125. I love this bike and its been really reliable so far. the bike had been neglected after a friend had a accident ( not bike related ) and was unable to ride it for sometime so it had just been sitting outside. we live by the coast and i guess the salt air had been eating away at it. i pretty much stripped the bike down and sanded all the rust off, primed and sprayed the frame, wheels and forks and it looks great. Problem i had was with the exhaust. i did sand this back as much as possible filled a small hole and then sprayed with exhaust paint. All was fine but the rep…

  11. Hi guys, good site you've got here. Could anyone point me in the right direction - I'm digging around for some clocks for my 2002 DT 125R & a reasonable source for a rear brake master cylinder repair kit ? (Mine have missing speedo casing/trip meter knob & cracked tacho lens) Grateful for any help, cheers.

Just bought a used 1988 Yamaha Virago 1100. Have put on about 60 miles and it seems to be running just fine. I was a little hesitant buying the bike as I am 68 years old. My last bike was a Triumph 750 (about 45 years ago. I live in Plymouth, MA, USA and am looking forward to riding again.

I was looking for a forum for the WR250f when I found this The Yamaha Club. That's even better. Hope to read some good 'How to's' and other stuff about Yamahas.
