Hi there. New to the forum this evening and completely new to the cruising world, having bought this 650 (1998) today and still have a huge smile from the ride home. However I think I'm going to serious fray the nerves of the neighbours if I don't put some baffles in these pipes as they currently have none. Problem is I'm afraid I have no idea which make they are and I wondered if anyone on here knew or whether I just buy universal baffles which I've seen on ebay. Thanks in advance.

Hello All.....I've had the urge for another cruiser type bike,my first year self employed was good,so i've been wandering around dealers and found myself a pucker 2014 Yamaha 950 midnight star with 961 miles from new,clearly did'nt want to pay the ticket price,so after a bit of haggling got a deal,including delivery,the bike was dropped of this morning,so oncei had taxed it,i took it for a spin,only a short ride as rain was expected,stopped in a car park by a lake,took some pictures and a short video,looked really good.It was time to leave for home,pushed the button,dead......flat battery,unable to bump start it on my own,phoned the dealer,who were really good,went all th…

can anyone tell me how the hell the pulse pump connects up? its off the bike (i didnt take it off) and i need to connect it back up again and its looking like a mass of hoses going into a block of metal at the mo. some pics would be nice (hint hint lol) but yeah any help would be appreciated cause i need it to get the cbr engine running properly for the bobber project then i can start mounting the engine into the frame and take some pics to post an update

Just joined the forum and have done my introduction,i have brought a 2014 xvs950 midnight star,had a dragstar a few years ago and liked it,been through the maxi scooter market,having had a few Piaggio X9's,Tmax & Number of Suzuki Burgmans as well as a couple of Harleys,my last cruiser bike being a Kawsaki VN 900.The xvs i have just brought has yet to go through the dealers workshops,one of the first things i would like to get is a Windshield,the bike already has a set of spot lights on it,they look to be close to the headlight and i am worried about finding a screen to fit. Is this right? The AC from stator goes to rectifier and then regulator then to battery? Meaning first test stator then rectifier then regulator? Thanks for reading.

Hi all, New to the forum ( Yes i posted an intro forum police ) I was wondering if any of you know if my model 1999 V-Star 650 Customs exhaust is compatible with the newer 2004+ model exhausts or even if it is tweak able (by a half decent mechanic) to fit. My bike needs some TLC aesthetically speaking and i saw these Vance & Hines Shortshots and fell in love!! Let me know what you think Also i am thinking of getting this sort of colour scheme with matte black engine and a more shiny tank and fenders but mostly blacked out. Do you guys think this would look good along with the exhaust above? Would just like to get some opinions so…

Hello, I hope someone can help me out here. I am going to get myself virago 750 in couple of days and would like to know if there are some sort of restrictor kit available for that model ( 47bhp). I found quite a few ones for 535 and 1100 versions but not 750. Help would be much appreciated.

Hi Everyone First time posting so sorry if already covered topic. I have a 2003 XVS Dragstar 650, bought it in Jan with around 7500 miles on it just hit about 8500. I was riding home from work today when a strange sound started coming from the bike. The only way I can describe it is if you were to pick up an a4 piece of paper and flap it a couple of times. IT made this noise every now and then at around 30mph in either 3rd or 4th gear. It wasn't constant it would just happen in random bursts would go along then *flap* go a few meteres further *flap flap* etc it wasn't massively loud. Hi all, Ive got a XVS950 2011, with 40,492 miles on the clock, which ran fine up until the end of last month. i was on the motorway, in the heavy rain and after around 50 miles the bike started to choke and splutter dropping down to 1 cylinder, giving it more revs managed to get it moving again as it should for another 5/10 miles, at which point it died, so i got into the hard shoulder and checked over it theres an error code 33 on the LCD and the engine management light is on. The very little info i can find is that error code 33 is for "open circuit in coil 1" so i bought 2 new OEM coils, which i fitted but the bike wont start on both cylinders, and the error code is…

Hi All, just looking for some advice. I commute daily (20miles round trip) on a Piaggio MP3 500 on quiet B roads . I have been doing this for 8 months and I have now decided to take my full license (Piaggio is classed as a trike so driven on a car licence). im looking for a bike I can grow into, primarily for my 20 mile commute (occasionally I drive 80 miles on the motorway round trip to work .... very occasionally!!). Hi there, I have a 2009 YBR 125 Custom. and had no bother all winter, got to work early morning yesterday, then tried to start bike to go home, and it's not priming, lights come on, engine light, then goes off but no noise, press the starter,it tries but no banana! Had to bus it went in this morning, tried it, it made the priming noise, and started! But tried later to go home, no noise, no start! Doh! As you can tell I know nothing, have Google problem, and some say it could be the fuel pump, and also it being warmer weather!! I bought an XVS950a Midnight Star last year and have been riding it without proper boots, bad form I know. Now I've bought a nice pair of Held leather boots but cannot get my toe under the gearchange pedal. Problem is I can't see how to adjust it so I can get my toe between the footboard and the gearchanger. Can anyone advise me on how to do this please? Many thank.

Hey guys how are all of you doing. I was hoping some of you could advice me on this matter. I got a 1999 virago 125cc. The starter wont start the bike It wont even make a noise nothing. I have to hit second gear and run with the bike to get it to turn on. After it turns on everything works geart and when it gets hot enough the starter will work just fine... I changed the battery spark plugs cleaned out the carburetor and i even took a part the starter from the handel bars apart and cleaned it. I bought a Yamaha Virago recently and i'm about to get it ready to go on the road, I was looking at ordering some parts when i came across a slightly confusing issue... My V5C states that the bike is a Yamaha XVS125 in red, first registered in 2003... but i'm not convinced... Its on a 2003 plate and when i bought it i ran a check, the reg & vin matched and it said it was not an import. hi anybody fitted front fork gaiters ,I always fit gaiters to my bikes , what I need is the size of gaiter to fit my xv535 I would need the diameter of the uoter leg tube and the diameter of ,the inner tube and the length ,ive tried a cheap pair from e,bay but they were to tight and now have ripped any help appreciated

Hello. Ive just registered here because I have just spent my knowledge. 3years ago I bought Sachs Roadster 125 bike, with Yamaha XV125 engine. I imported it from Germany. Bike worked smooth and without problems. After first few months of use, which were last moths of summer, I started basic maintenance. Air filter, oil filter, oil, ignition plugs. Then I discovered, that rubber tube from carb to air filter box was completely broken, like in half. But, I thought - nothing to worry, theres winter ahead, i have time. Throughout winter Ive changed oil, filter, repainted bike, ultrasonic cleaned carb... but couldnt find that rubber tube. Then I bought universal "sports" a…
