picked up a 77dt250 sat for 10yrs. it runs but burns oil the odor isnt from the premix crank seals? also wont idle . can i swap a 77 dt 400 engine inplace of the 250 without much grief or having to mod the frame JR

Yamaha UK have point blank refused to provide me with any documentation whatsoever regarding this trike. The guy I spoke to said that although he could read anything I wanted to know, including the date of manufacture, to me over the phone, Yamaha UK do not give this information in writing or on paper because the trike was never intended for road use. My trike has indicators, road tyres, full front and rear and stop lights, horn, speedometer, the works. I am sure I can put it on a 'Q' plate if Yamaha won't provide this info, but I know there are TRI-Z's out there on 1980's VRMs D's, E's whatever (I have seen them in the past) Q plating will be a lot more time co…

hey i have a dt 125r 2000 plate its been very good to me but now i have noticed my bottom end has started to rattle a lot more than usual and my gear box oil keeps going below minimum in less than a week so im guessing its going up and getting burnt some how (no leak been checking) so i think its time for a rebuild ! im looking for a bigger bore kit around about 170cc i have seen one for £400 but i dont really want to pay that much! does any one know of any other kits? cheers

Hi, I've always wanted one of these bikes and now I have the money I decided to get one. The bike is completley standard, I'm looking to get more speed and power, I more concerned about acceleration over top speed. Could you guys list all the stuff I need and needs doing, and if you could give websites to parts etc it would be helpfull. Also I have a Aprillia garage less than a mile away, and a Yamaha garage 7 miles away would you recommend taking it to the yamaha garage to get all the stuff fitted. Thanks, Scott.

I am a long time rider as well as a PlayStation employee. We have a new game coming out called Motorstorm Pacific Rift and we are hosting an event in its honor. It will be held for a number of professional atheletes (all types of sports) in the Orlando area. Where you come in: we are looking to fill the first couple spots at the event with dirty (aka, had some fun in the mud) vehicles. We would love Dirt bikes, dune buggies, rally cars (subaru, lancer, mazda or the like), pick up trucks, and if any of you have a monster truck lying around...that would be great too. Just found out today that my tickover screw (correct name?) has come out from my carburettor and this is not a replaceable part and so im going to have to get a new carb. I was toying with the idea of a bigger carb anyway and so i think im going to fit a 32. I have a few questions though before i go ahead; whats the standard size? if i buy a 32 will it come with an inlet rubber or can i get one of these? has anyone else tried this and can give me some help?

Anybody know if the front wheel off a DT or XT 125 super mot fit straight in an XT350 or if you need spacers etc, a lot of the DTR stuff seems to match the XT350. any advice?

has any had any success with a carb upgrade on a dtr. I've looked at some full power tzr/tdr carbs, vhsa32gsvs, however, they seem to have 2 extra cables coming out of them.

hi can any one explain why when i put the center pipe back in to my fmf back box (the smaller pipe in the middle) of the back box to reduce noise,i rode for about 2 miles on road then about 2 mile green laneing-the bike suddenly started to back fire,i thought water had got in so revved the crap out of it , the reves were low, it eventually died and to my surprise the back box had been turned into a second combustion chamber blowing out the exit pipe completely -least to say its fucked the back of my new bike ! bought it Monday,any ideas-.could it be the ignition coil assembly?it has a yz top end and wr gearbox

I'm sorting out the wiring on an 85 XT350 which was a field bike for a short spell - no its not that bad! - most of the loom is still there but has been hacked about some. At preset there are the wires coming up from the engine to the CDI and coil and to the stop button but nothing else. When i traced it out the wiring diagram it shows 2 x "control boxes" and 1 x appears to be under the clocks on a set of clocks I've bought. The engine runs without the second box being wired up so what does it do?

Right its like this, I've just been given a mk1 TZR 125 with a Kawasaki KX400 engine in it, thats fine but aint frisky enough for my liking and its not a Yami part. I'd like to get a YZ250+ engine and the other bits needed to make it run. Anyone got a spare engine ? Prefure a LC but a YZ250/490 aircooler wouldent be ignored. Hi all, Steve here new member and i've just got myself 2005 yz 125 but not ridden it as yet apart from the test ride which went ok but after i start and let it run for a few minutes in my garage i get one drop of oil under the bike from the black rubber breather tube coming from the front of the engine. Now seeing as i'm not mechanically minded when it comes to bikes should i be worried about this or is it some sort of exhaust port for excess two stroke oil or something. Any info gratefully recieved. Thanks Steve.

hi on my bike the carb was leaking through the overflow all the time , so i took the carb off and cleaned it all now there is no leak happy days but now when you start the bike and rev it hard it back fires and puts a blue flame out the exhaust . only had the bike 3 month and its got a leon vince tail pipe on dont no if that matters thanks neil

Hello Which of the Guru's of the DTR can help? I have a DTR with the following markings: On the PValve side i have these: Bottom of barrel - 3BM00 On crankcase - 3BN03 with Y-1 underneath On oil pump side i have this: Bottom of barrel - Y-1 On the head i have this: 3BN Y-2 So what year please? Next the bike is as follows: DEP front & back Running premix ay about 50:1 CDI is a 3RM-20 Air filter is standard Quick action throttle Carb - i assume is standard Main jet? Yet to take carb off.
