    Gents. Im after diagram of the engine in my WR125r. Theres a couple of parts i want to find out about. 1st is a little black "valve" type with a airpipe from the airbox through this "valve" into my exaust (just down from the manifold) This is just a guess but does it blow Cold air into my exaust to lower emmissions? If so surely this will reduce back pressure obviously reduceing power. Also can anyone reccoment me a full pipe for my bike? Many thanks Paddy

    How do i drain the oil out/ replacing the oil seals to the new ones... Plus would there be any specialist tools i would need?

    Hi there, I am wondering if there is any way to change the speedo on my DT125RE 07 I have gone from a 21" to 17" wheel size, is it possible to change the speedo so it recognises I have a smaller circumference, with it being an analogue speedometer? thanks alot Jake

    hi every 1 sorry to keep bombarding u with questions:) what are the standard carb setting for a yamaha dtr . the pin is on the 3rd mark of the needle,the bike kicks over but rens for few seconds then dies so i just wana know how many turns the air mixture screw is and if there is any outher things what could help it thanks

  5. Hi All, Been absolutely ages since I posted anything up on here. I have to admit I have gone over to the Orange side (KTM) as I am now doing enduro events etc. BUT, I could never sell the DT, had it so long, worked on it so much, ridden and broken it so many times it just cannot be sold. And now... I have done some bits and pieces to it. Stripped it painted it, re-greased, renewed and replaced everything that needed doing. Fitted a Big One. It was cheap and nearly new. Recently got hold of some YZ 125 forks, upside downers from an early nineties bike (my DT is a 91) Fiddled about with the yokes and have them fitted perfectly.     I've got an old 1978 Dt frame, at least it had a 1978 DT 175 motor in it. I'm building a street legal trike out of it, I know I'm a little strange. I have a 1978 IT 250 that I can have if I go get it. My question is will the IT motor fit in the DT frame or will there be issues? I'm sure somebody out there has worked on these different types and can answer this questio in their sleep. Thanks for the help guys. Dan "Bookem" Taylor

    I'm looking to sell the DT fairly soon, and thought the next project could be a XT225. Must admit I don't know too much about the XT225's as yet - is there anyone on here who knows much about them, what to look for / avoid etc? cheers Lee

    To all who it may concern. Due to my numerous requests to Japan's Yamaha factory and to Japan's Commerce and Industry Association I've been give the same reply on my issue. That is: there were no VIN code for the engine in some particular models of motorcycles manufactured in Japan. The list of the models: YAMAHA TTR250 (years of origin: 1993-2001) YAMAHA FZR250 (years of origin: 1989-2001) YAMAHA TDR250 (tears of origin: 1988-1993) You can take this information in your consideration while checking the bike before buying it. The only identification on the engine can be found are the letters or digits like: 4GY, 1KT or other.

    Hi all I have a Dt125 which has been giving me problems with starting? with a bit of investigating I found that if I unbolt the stand switch an tie it to the frame it starts? I have tested the switch with a meter and it seems fine also tested the clutch switch and swapped the relays etc can anyone help? thanks Kevin

    hello all, after some advice, whats the widest reat tyre that will fit in my square section swing arm.. running an MT 43 trial block at the moment, its quite snug in the frame, problem is on the muddy green lanes it fills up and becomes a slick..lol.. any ideas what would be better.. thanks.. chris.

  11. i've got a spare lc MK 3 barrel and cylinder head for sale, it's the round type with the powervalve, just needs a rebore as it has light marks. the powervalve alone sells at quite abit on ebay so make me an offer for the lot, or even just the bits you want also i'm going to have 2 spare complete bottom ends, from the crank to the front sprocket for a MK1 and 2 Lc 125 so if anyone wants any bits off these make me an offer, hopefully this helps someone in my situation without them having to buy 2 whole engines just to get one part from it. cheers, Lee edit...sorry i am new to this forum and believe i may have posted this in the wrong section, didnt see there was a f…

  14. Just picked up a really nice IT 175. Runs great. Needs a few things and some TLC but its got new rings. What are some common mods for this bike? Any parts to look for off other Yamaha's? Suspension mods, more performance? Can the aluminum swing arm be used of a 1980 IT 175?

    hi, i have a 1986 dt 200 that i purchased during the winter. found it on kijiji. drove 200 miles to get it. problem is, 1- the bike never actually ran, although it sounded like it wanted to go, it just sounded flooded to me, there was frsh snow on the ground so we couldn't try to bump start and 2, while the giant of a man that was selling it and kicking the bike over to start it , the bikes kick start stopped returning to the top. he phoned the bike shop on both 2 circumstances and for #1 problem he thought it was the needle and seat, as i did too. and 2nd they felt it was just a rewind spring and it sounded reasonable to me aswell. he gave me a hundred bucks off on each …

    ay up all,newbie here, just bought myself a 1993 ttr 250 but the previous owner has removed the headlight and light switch from the bike and it currently runs on a daylight mot, i was wondering how difficult it would be to sort the lights out to get a proper mot on it, if i can't get a yamaha front light is there anything else i could fit on instead? thanks for any advice steelprunes

  19. I just picked up a pretty clean 1988 DT50 and I am looking to change the ignition so that I can run 12v lights (and hopefully get some more revs with an internal rotor). I found an ignition and it is compatible with the Minarelli AM6 motor. Does my 1988 have that motor? I am in the US and from what I can tell these bikes were only imported from 1988-1990. After 9,892,021 google searches I think the AM6 was used on the DT50 R and not my bike. Is this true? Does anyone know a good ignition that I can use on my 1988 DT50 (US)??? thanks

    hi having trouble getting spark on my 68 dt1 250 have power when kicking over on pos side of coil but not at the plug also power on neg side any help thanks steve.
