Hi all again, Ive been having a fiddle today trying to clear up my excessively smoking engine and got confused with as to whether my choke was on or off. Can somebody tell me when i lift my choke lever up is this on or off on a 2005 dt125.And if possible how many turns roughly from bottom should the mixture screw be at. Thanks in advance. Carl

okay, my bike is a XT125X, i bought it yesterday and running fine, however, this morning i turned the key and nothing, none of the dash would light up, the neutral light wont light up, all it says is MPH on the dash, which does that anyway, also last night when it was running fine, the battery was showing 1 bar of life left, thats why it wouldnt electric start up, ive tried bumping it, and have tried kicking it up, still nothing, it might be an over night solution, becasue when i went to look at the bike it wouldnt run, but the next day kicked up first time, if anyone can shine some light on this problem it would be much apprecieated, thanks in advance.

Anyone done any mods to the standard pipe to give more of a brak, i have heard the easy way is to drill 4 small holes at the end around the small baffle, anyone done this?

hello ,i have a dt 125 mx ,with a 1979 yz engine,.i went to ken hall motocross at the weekend an noticed that a lot of the bikes ,,twin shock had boost bottles coming from the reed block,,,,,why?????i ,if they serve to add more power i was thinking of putting an early lc reed block on a dt mx barrel,as they had as said bottle.do they increase power. cheers

This bike starts out great and runs awesome! alot of fun to ride. But after about ten minutes or so the bike starts bogging out and then lurching and then stalls out completely. You have to wait for the engine to cool down to start it again (about 20-30 minutes) and run it. But the weird thing is is that after it stalls it will idle roughly on choke and then it will start idling really fast and then stall out. It is the weirdest thing. I am running 32:1 motorcycle two stroke with premium gasoline. I've cleaned the carb too and the plug is wet after trying to start it. I also took the plug out after it stalls and it has good spark out of the cylinder. Any ideas? I…

hi there im new to the forum and can i just say it looks very helpful indeed.I have a dt125r 1990 on a g plate and just had a rebore and new piston i have a small question it has a powervalve but not one thats operated by a servo(if you know what i mean)How do i make sure this is in the correct position as mine seems to spin free and doesnt look like anyway of locking it off,I really dont know how its supposed to work any help would be great and not start the bike since replcaing the piston as i dont know what damage can be done by the pv being in the wrong postion?

I was wondering, I have a 1980 175 dt as you know by now. I have a 1.75 x 21 inch tire on the front of my bike. Can I put a 3.00 x 21 on it? I have a chance to get a brand new one for $20. my 1.75 is partially dry rotted.

Hi, I have a 1993 XTZ660 Tenere and it was running very nicely. Recently it has developed an annoying habit of cutting out on idle when warmed up. Its fine for about the first 5 miles then whenever you stop after that, the revs drop to zero, she cuts out and is a b***h to restart until she's cooled down a little. I've had the fuel tank cap, the valve clearances, spark plug gap, idle and mixture settings all checked and its still happening. Could this be some kind of electrical coil problem? I am no mechanic so please help if you can. Many thanks.

does anyone have a picture or diagram of the chain tensioner and where the chain should run as i have a roller on the top thats not doing anything and i think the chain should go over this and below where i think the chain tensioner or a roller goes i only have a metal bar and the chain is running over it wearing it away.the bike is a 1985 dt125lc mk1,i have looked in the haynes manual but that was no help

hey guys i finally found a 70 kit for my DT50LC and i was hoping you guys could help me figure out the jetting the carb will remain stock because the budget (read wifey) doesnt allow a new one yet at any rate, the bike will be running a 70CC kit, boyesen reeds and a cut open airbox with the stock filter what kind of jetting should i be looking at ?

Hi , I have a DT 175 79 or 80. Carb is a 2h5. the bike is a us import 2n5 frame number. It runs really flat. Was on a 100 main jet . changed the jet to 130 had a seizure. Sorted that ,still have same problem. Cut exhaust open and cleared out the pipe(it was blocked). no change , still running bad. Will run great with no air filter.have tried less restrictive filter. tried a 120 jet same issue. Bike will run great just off full throttle but on full there is no power and the same thing on half to three quarter throttle. Any ideas?

Hey. In the process of replacing the tyres on my DT125r SM and just ordered up a 120/70 - R17 front the same size as whats fitted atm. However as for ordering the rear i noticed they dont do the 140/70 - R17 that comes fitted to the DT. Anyone here let me know what they are running on the rear plz? Dont want to order the 150/60 - R17 and find it catches on the chain or something. Thanks.
