Just bought a parts bike that has 2k9 on frame and center housing was replaced so no numbers on engine case. Bike appears to be an IT250, has dual coils and 2 spark plug holes. Missing some parts and I wanted to know what I had before I started to order parts. Also, did this bike have a title or are they like the YZs? someone had a plate attached to back fender but I didn't think the ITs were streetable... missing front rim-brakes-axle-brake lever, rear brakes and springs, rear brake arm and linkage. throttle cable wasted, in fact i think it is the wrong one because it would never fit onto the carb, clutch perch gone too... What I ended up with was a decent fram…

Free bike parking for motorcyclists could be scrapped nationally because information needed to oppose the move has been kept from riders, according to campaigners. Under law people have six months to object to new parking charges for motorcycles becoming permanent. But public notices telling riders vanished within days of the charges being introduced. A campaign group says motorcyclists across the country will lose long-standing free bike parking bays and urges riders to sign the group’s petition on Number 10’s website at Deadline to sign up by: 06 March 2009 http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/bikeparkingfees/

I have a Yamaha DT125R (2006reg), has 10.000 miles and I believe it still has the original tyres. The back tyre needs to be replaced really soon. The front tyre is still in very good condition (original tyre) I commute to work on the bike every day. All the riding is done within London mostly. Any recommendations and what prices should I be looking at with fitting including. I'm thinking of doing in my local Yamaha dealer. Cheers guys

Can anybody offer up any advice on fitting new pads to the rear disc on my little Yam please. I am pretty sure that I'll need to drop the rear wheel off and wonder if it is a job that I can do by myself.

Hi, I recently bought a 2005 XT125X which has been running fine, until I accidentily managed to get some water in the petrol tank. After draining the tank and carb, the bike ran fine again, but I now notice that the fuel vent pipe is leaking petrol. about a drip every 10-12 seconds. It doesnt drip while the bike is running, but when off it leaves a puddle and wont stop until the bike is started. The other problem is that it seems to stall a fair bit, but I think I may have tightened the idle speed screw when putting the carb back together, but thought it was worth mentioning. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone been that impatient, or skint to not buy new swing arm bushes and re use old ones? Ive drifted them out of a spare swing arm but in the haynes manual it claims its impossible to do without damaging the bush. They wanna charge me 55 quid for all 4 bushes, 2 shims and 2 oil seals, and make me wait til later next week because its easter. So im tempted to re use the ones ive drifted out as they dont look to bad, was just wondering if anyone has done this before and then had loads of play as a result? Its only a field bike so doesnt need to pass mot. Cheers
