Hi all, Im curious to know if i could fit a DT125 engine (or 125cc engine of any sort) im my 1984 DT50MX frame? Ill be getting the R125 next year but i want to make this a project to do in my spare time. The bike is only 6v - would i need to rewire the bike to a 12v to make the engine run properly? Basically can it be done without making any MAJOR modifications to the frame of the bike?? After being away from bikes for a few years, I saw a CT3 on Craig's List. Only 1750 original miles - sitting for 20+ years in somebody's barn. I bought one of these new in 1973 right out of college and want to get this in good shape for my wife and grandkids to tool around on - me too, of course. Still has original tires, grips, etc. All the gold paint is good, a little chrome blister, some of the gray fender paint needs work, but all in all not a bad start to restore. The Autolube pump needs some work and the carb will get rebuilt. The air box cover is gone, so I'm going to put on a K&N until I can find original parts. Hi to all Does anyone know where I can get a cdi stator coil for a 1983 yamaha DT100. Mine is completely bad and I couldn't find anything on ebay. I picked up the bike for $100 not running and I'm working my way through the problems. As an alternate does anyone know what the voltage is that comes from the cdi stator coil. Maybe I can build a circuit to supply the necessary voltage from the battery. JoAnn

Hi all I'm in the process of rebuilding an XT350 as is a mate and he is stuggling with the front caliper for his (i.e. he hasn't got one). We tried fitting my caliper to his to check it was trhe same but is doesn't fit, we also tried a TT350 caliper that I bought thinking it would fit straight on mine (anybody need one???? let me know) and this also doesn't fit as the fixing lugs on his fork leg are much farther apart than on mine. The fixing bolt centres are about 100mm apart on his forks. Any body any ideas what might fit?? Cheers

I've got a 2004 Yamaha TW 125, which needs a new exhaust. The stock backbox has rusted right through, and is beyond repair. The front section is all intact. So, I need a new rear section to connect to the front and a backbox. Sounds easy enough, right? The only aftermarket exhaust I can find is >£400, which seems a bit excessive to me. I've been to a couple of garages who can't find anything either... So I think I'm looking at some sort of custom job. I originally wanted to get some sort of generic 4-stroke tailpipe, and get a bit of custom pipework to connect it to the front section, but the specialist in my area has got a big queue of work (2 months!) so it's not …

Hi all, I have just bought a non running DT175 on a 79 chassis, I believe though that the engine is from a different year. I'm not sure whether this will cause problems or not, but i need to get a CDI for it, so when I find one it needs to be the right one. The Source coils are there and there are 6 wires from them. The only marks i can find on the engine are: 2A700 171CC I'm wondering if the 2A700 is an identification No. or serial No. i would hope that it means something. Anybody have any ideas about the year, also if there will be issues later in the resto with matching different engine to frame, that may trip me up? (it mounts ok) Any help will b…

When i got my bike it had a tiny rip on the seat and now it is massive. Need a new seat but the prices are obscene. Was wondering about how to re-cover the seat as am thinking about selling. Hi just had a re-bore done on my 05 Xt125 for £80 inc piston and gasket set it is now 98% complete and I only have two screws left over can't find where they go. I have just one modification to do, and that is to replace the fake radiator in front of the cylinder head with a simple bracket because I think it is preventing or obstructing the cooling. also it is 99% ttr 125 engine. Hi guys im new to the forum and it seems very good! i do though have a problem it started one day when i was riding to see a friend all my lights went off, i mean indicators, N light, oil light, oil gauge stopped working and bike just cut out. So i stopped at my local motor cycles place, and they said its prob the battery so i ordered one. After that he said he had taken off the relay underneath the seat as i don’t need it??? Now i looked at the dtr manual and it said on there it was a flashing relay? ( they have two relays? one near the front light and another one under the seat) i looked at the relay where they had taken it off and the connections where rusted …

Hello all, As a new owner to an old 71 RT1 360 I have been working my way through its problems. I have rebuilt the trans, broken kicker idler gear shaft and a bunch of obvious problems. The bike now runs and rides and kicks back like a mule, but there is also a problem with the carb. I am not running an air cleaner yet because I have not been able to find one (hints anyone). Could this lack of restriction effect the next several issues? The bike will run but the choke has to be down or it acts like it is running out of fuel even at speed. I have cleaned the carb several times and see no clogged jets. The next issue discovered today is that it starts over …

like it says i have a 86 tt600 that quit working last summer. i got it home to find out that the complete ignition system failed stator,cdi,and coil. since then i got the stator rewound got a new cdi, coil, and plug.still wont fire here are the things i do know while kicking i get 200v from stator,4v from the trigger coil,the cdi wants to fire the coil but wont,i tested the coil at work and it does work. pleas help me summer is coming and i cant ride yet

Hi all, I am planning on buying a wr450 and would just like as much advice as I can get on them before I buy one. I have a couple of specific questions but in addition to that any information would be welcomed: How long do the engines last for if properley serviced How often do you have to service them Is there a particular model and year to avoid or aim for Are there any particular things to look at when viewing to buy Does the overall design change after a certain year What are the pros and cons of the wr450 Would really appreciate any advice, I am planning on riding on road and green laning. I have a 1970 CT-175. The thing runs great and iI have it all dialed in, except one problem. The front headlight is burned out and I am having a terrible time trying to find a bulb for it. The bulb tha tis burned out is made by Kioto, but I can't find anything by searching that. I would love any help or ideas as to how to get this thing working. Thanks, Andy

bought it sunday! Drove it monday ran fine! tuesday the bike wouldnt run i cleaned the carb the carb is getting fuel the spark plug is sparking and it turns over when u kick! i have tried to push start it and it didnt work. does anyone know why it wouldnt be working? its not a seized piston is it? im so confused on why it wont start

I have a 1983 XJ 750 Maxim. I screwed up the wires last year, they are now sparking out on the engine block. I have been pricing new coil packs, and cannot afford the 120/side they will cost. My question is, can I replace just the wires? Looks like they are part of the coil and does not come apart easily. If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks.
