Hello to all, I just got given to me,a 1988 dt175 in pretty good shape. Has a leaking gear selector shaft seal but that's about it,easy fix but I'm trying to find a workshop manual incase I want to do more work or to help others out,more importantly for settings and specs. Their are listings for 68 to 73 and 77 to 83 on ebay,can't seem to find anything else for the later models or any cd manuals,the mechanic reckons they haven't really changed much apart from a few little things but still need a manual for reference.don't know if I should bother with the dealer (cant mention why) but yeah need some help on this one. Any help will be appreciated

Ijust bought a 1982 Yamaha 100 enduro and know nothing about bikes. The bike runs great but the red oil light under the spedo is on when the bike runs and I do not want to damage the engine. The oil tank is full how do I know if it is a bad sensor or if the oil injector is not working? Can I add oil to the gas tank and pull the small line off the carb from the injector to see if oil runs while the bike runs? Is ther something I can do to know if the injector pump is working?

I've recently been rebuilding an old DT50MX as a bit of fun but I'm having problems registering the bike. The bike is a 'bitsa and any documents that there were, have been long since lost along with the original registration no. I Wrote to DVLA asking them if they could supply me with the original reg. using the frame no.(VIN) for reference but they replied that they no longer had a record of the VIN. I now will have to re-register the bike and have a another(age-related) reg. no. issued. Does the club have a vehicle validation procedure whereby, if I supply the VIN, the club can supply verification of the year of manufacture? I understand and accept that usually clubs ma…

Hi I wanted to share my work in progress DT175. I have done quite a bit myself and help of my dad. I picked it up for $150 in bad shape. So far I've chaged: New handlebars Removed fenders New tires Air filter Installed headlight and taillight Changed seat - I made the seat pan out of a street sign I found. I sewed the vinyl myself with carpet padding. It doesn't look bad from afar but not great close so I'll probably try again. Removed broken rpm gauge I took it to a shop to clean the carb and change oil ps - please avoid Big Daddy's Automotive in Fayetteville, Ga. Hello, I am new here. I just purchased a 1979 DT175 for my son. We got the bike running and it runs rather well. We are now trying to do the electrical; this is where I lack knowledge. We want headlights, tail light and directional. I got a new 6v battery but I am not sure where to start. It appears all the wiring is there (on the bike) but not sure what to do next… can anyone help by providing a wire diagram and identification on which wire goes where… Many thanks in advance

Hi I have just recently bought a k reg tdr 125 and it keeps nearly overheating I switch it off just before it goes into the red after about 5 mins of riding, ive fitted all new hoses as one was split and iv already checked the thermostat is opening so I cant work out why its getting so hot so quick, I have noticed that when I start the bike all the coolant is forced back up the rad and out through the expansion bottles overflow pipe at the back of the bike. any suggestions on what is causing this problem would be much appreciated thanks.

Hello there. I'm a car guy and lately I started getting into bikes also. So I decided to get on getting a Yamaha DT175 from a friend. My buddy is going to sell me it for a nice price but what I don't know is the model of it neither he does. I mean is it a DT175MX or any other type? What year is it? I need help in figuring out what it has. Its got a rear monoshock suspension and has a red color (incase that might help identify what it is). My friend only knows that its a 1970's bike. Also can someone please explain what is CDI and point? what systems are they? and how do I know which of the both does the bike have. Thanks in advance

Hey all I'm new here first post I have a 1996 dt125r payed 1000 for it yesterday got 2 miles from my house after picking it up and it just cut out and would not start back up would just make a loud pop from the pipe. How ever I have managed to have a look on a lot of forums and they all say different things I have solved the problem with a ten minute job (after a whole day scratching my head) taking things part. Basically the wire that goes in to your magneto take that off give it a good clean (with brush or some emery paper) and that was all it took hope this helps any one in the same boat as me also I silliconed the gasket of the magneto houseing as it was horribl…

Hi, I've bought DT 125 x wheels for my DT 125 R, struggling to find a pair of high performance tyres, do they need to be a matching pair? Also can i just swap the brake disc and bolt the new wheels on? From what I'm aware i can't use the speedo or side stand. Thanks

Hello everyone, i have a 2006 DT125X supermoto with the spoked wheels.. Does anybody know of any other wheels that would fit this bike? i've been told that TDR wheels fit them but you need the forks, caliper, caliper carrier and different bearings and speedo cable/drive and wheel spacers? Does anybody have more information on this? any help is much appreciated!

Hi guys, I am after abit of advice as to where I can source a new set of spokes and nipples for my wheels.. I have a 2006 Yamaha DT 125x supermoto that my spokes have corroded on, I am getting my wheels powdercoated and want the spokes changing too. Just a simple gloss black set of spokes and nipples, does anybody have any ideas where I can get them from? Thanks

hi peeps .just had my bike back from the local workshop .where it has been for a week sorting an electrical fault ..all sorted .but .....there is a big BUT .the clocks are set to motard and not enduro ,so i`m getting mad speed readings ,anyone know of a special button combo to put it back in enduro mode "without disconnecting the battery " ..any advice gladly received ..thanks in advance gary

alright guys.. had a bit of a mission doing some paint work on my DT getting it ready for when the sun decides to show its face, anyways.. painted my forks and when I went to put my wheel back on just slightly nipped the 2 bolts that hold the spindle and snap! it broke the bracket that the spindle goes through at the bottom of the fork. Does anybody know where I could get some second hand forks from other than ebay? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. Thankyou

Hi All. Could use a bit of advice with my 2002 DT 175. It had a partial seizure recently and I had it re-bored and installed new piston and rings/ gaskets etc.. It started first time from the repair and I have done maybe 300kms (200miles) on her since. Last week she simply refused to kick start. I had started her normally that morning. She started second or third kick. I then rode her with no problems for about 30 kms and stopped at a friends place for a few hours. Came out and it would not kick start. Checked plug. Hi all I've got a bit of a problemo yesterday my engine decidied to go bang as the big end bearing self destructed ruining a lot of the engine including piston barrel head and a lot of scoring in the bottom of the engine. Anyway I'm looking for new engines and struggling to find any engines for my model however there seems to be a lot of dt 125 re engines kicking around and was won dering if they would fit in my 1991 frame?
