hey guys haven't been on in a long time but my 1977 Yamaha dt 175 has suddenly given no spark. I was riding it to the shop when it stoped on the way, I pushed it in to the shop and put my new to me shocks I got off a Yamaha street bike. I screwed around with the plug and coil trying to get spark but no luck, so I decided to take off the cover where the points are and I undid the nut and pulled that tried to pull that brake drum lookin thing off. no luck so I put the nut back on and tried to spin it and it made this awful grindin noise and it would get really hard to spin. im not familiar with this thing so im wondering if I got it out of time or some crap. any help would …

Hi all, I've had a very frustrating day green laning today. The lanes were very wet and muddy and after almost every lane my bike was running like s##t. I had to stop, drain the carb and then carry on. I did this about 7 times. I've had the trouble before and have removed the carb and cleaned it countless times. My air filter was cleaned, dried and oiled two rides ago so I know that is clean. As you can imagine this is very frustrating. Any help and advice on how to stop his happening would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Hey so I was thinking about changing my levers to ASV or something but most of them specify a bike...is that necessary or do you think most of them will fit the DT anyway ? I was thinking of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CR80-CR85-CR125-CR250-1992-07-ASV-F3-Forged-Brake-Clutch-Levers-Red-/181433875855?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item2a3e4d3d8f But I dont want to spend £100 then realise they don't fit. Any help would be appreciated

Hello, I'm new to the forum as I recently purchased a Yamaha TT600R which I have now found out has a later engine fitted, this one with the electric start, all in all I'm very pleased with the bike, got the Ohlins rear shock etc, it was purchased to do a little green lane riding. Anyway, I've managed to get general service parts and fork oil seals without to much of a problem but I need a new gear lever, the Yamaha listed one is ridiculously expensive for such an old bike and I wondered if anyone could tell me if an XT600 gear lever would fit or if you know a supplier that makes pattern ones cheaper ? I look forward to hearing from you soon and getting lots of advice a…

Hi Guys. Having real problems getting her to run properly. SYMPTOM: When riding in 5th at about 60mph, If I come off the power the bike wont start to accelerate again until the speed drops to about 35mph. (Feels like she's bogging down!) Does the same thing in 4th aswell. + Had full top end rebuild. (Ran fine after rebuild) + Carb float valve replaced + Jets flushed and cleaned + Tank cleaned out and flushed + Adjusted mixture screw several times - no luck + Running slightly smaller jet at the moment - could this be source of problem? Any help really appreciated.

hello, i bought a ty250 that had its Needle Valve assembly destroyed by bad gas, i have searched high and low for the part and cannot find it. I would buy a new carb for it but i dont have $200+ to spend on a new carb for that year. So i was wondering will a 76/81 dt175 carb work on it? or any other cheaper carb?
