Wow, I just went to get insurance on my Fz600 1988... I was expecting something like 300 Canadian $ . But since I'm 25, never received a ticket, and that my bike is rated as custom (beat me where they got that but it sure doesn't look like one), my rate is 100$. As a matter fact the rate is 84$ but the minimum insurance policy is 100$. Finally something in the motorcycling world that is not expensive ! BeerBaron

Hi everyone, Had my WR125 X 2011 for about a week and a half now. got 400 miles on the clock so just over halfway through the running in period. BUT... last night I started having some trouble with my gearbox, specifiaclly when changing down after coasting to a stop at traffic lights. The shifter would move down but no gears would change. I also noticed that the gears do seem quite clunky. Any ideas? Cheers

Wondered if anybody knows anything about the arrow exhaust kits for 125s and wether or not they improve performance in anyway or if they're just there to look good?

Hi. I wrecked my brand new 2006 R6 learning to ride it. To keep a long story short, I'm a huge idiot who made a 10,000 mistake. I can't take pictures detailing the damage yet, but I can describe a bit of the damage. The front end of the frame snapped off that connected the front wheel/handle bars to the bike and the windshield and side view mirrors are non existent. The middle and rear end of the body is mainly intact, including the engine. The only major damage to the rest of the bike/engine (aside from the plastic flimsy molding) it is a dent in my headers and I believe the oil pan was ripped open. The engine had about 10 miles total on it. I can either try …

Hi guys, I recently purchased an X-Max 250 around 4 months ago. The bike has been great so far and I have had my 1st service with no problems. I was using the bike as normal this past Saturday and when it came to start up the bike, it did not start! Instead of making a standard start noise, I just witnessed a clicking sound everytime I pressed the ignition along with holding the brake. Quite a large sounding clicking sound. The oil light always used to flash everytime I tried to start but again, just a clicking sound! I even held the ignition pressed with the brake for a good few seconds and nothing happened, I heard no starting noise. Is this a battery iss…

Sorry to seem really dense but I have returned to biking after a long break. My old bikes were all singles or twins. I now have a new XJ6 naked. The 4 cylinder engine is great after a large 500 single! But any advice on gear usage. Around town I think I am short shifting a lot using 5 th and 6 th too much. The bike pulls well but I think j should be using 3 rd and 4 th in the 30 zones. Whats the best rev range for town riding? Also has anyone fitted a devil end can on the original exhaust? It's so quite. Cheers.

hi everyone, im ricky i live in dunstable (luton) and own a XJ 600 bike, which im having alot of trouble with. i got the bike as a non runner, after it sat doing nothing for about 10yrs, after alot of messing around and help from friends, i got it running ,but it was only running on what seemed like 2 cylinders (instead of 4). i took my girlfriend to her friends house and left the bike outside, while i left it outside it rained and when i returned to the bike it would not start, it just sounded like the cylinder underneath the fuse box was just spinning, once i had bump starter the bike (with alot of struggle) i took my girlfriend home and upon arrival at her house the bi…

Hi all, I have just bought a 1997 XJ 600 s diversion, its immaculate with 12000 miles on it. In the last year it has done 30 miles and the year before about 100. when the owner started it before I went to look at it it would not tick over under 2500 revs he drained the carbs and then gave it a run and it now ticks over fine but is a little bit lumpy in the lower (up to about 3500 rpm) rev range. I am assuming the carbs need cleaning but I dont want to take them apart. Is there any petrol additive anyone can recomend that I could try to see if that would cure the problem before having to get the carbs cleaned. Thanks in advance, Gary

Im looking for a new exhaust system for my bike as the silencer i have on is beat up to bits and leeking where it joins the down pipes. only problem is, i dont know what i currently have on, to be able to buy a new exhaust that fits. It has a 4 into 1 systyem, rather than the origonal 4 into 2 but the silencer doesnt have any branding or numbering on it that i can see, ( might have to rip it off and have a good look ) has anyone else got a 4 into 2 on their bike ? and what kind of can do you have on it ? i was thining if i can find out what i have on at the moment it would be easier to get a link pipe, and then buy…

Hello everybody my name is Arnar I live in Iceland and a few months ago i bought my first bike, my choice was a cheap old pre division xj600, it had been sitting in storage the last 6 years or so and was missing a few pieces also the carbs are stuck and all around the bike is not in a very good condition, as i have quite a few American cars jeeps and such which require quite a lot of maintenance I have skills suited to rebuilding for instance an old bike or old cars and such. Funny thing is i have been calling the only licensed yamaha dealer here in Iceland and find them very pricey, for example for the price of two new engine heads (not that i need two) i could buy a br…

There was dints in the tank, so the last owner cut the petrol cap out and knocked them back into place. My question is, how do i put a new one on? Can i just buy any cap and drill the holes needed?
