I've been thinking about buying a new set of brake lines but since my bike is an older model there isnt many options for stainless steal, so I'm left with the universal option. The only thing Im worried about is the inside diameter of the banjo fitting. Are they the same size for most motorcycles? I dont have any other bikes I can measure so just throwing it out there. Thanks!

Hey. ive got a 2003 yamaha YQ50 aerox. its worked fine and had new reed valves and piston rings about 5 months ago. i recently installed neons on the moped. they have a switch to turn them on and off on the negative wire leading to the batery. the other day i left my full beam lights on all night (although with engine off and no keys in ignition) and came out to a flat battery. it started on the kick so i took it out for a blast to give the battery a good charge. after driving for about 20 mins to the shop, the electric start still didnt work, it moved the starter motor but not fast enough to fire. how ever it did start on the kick. i got home to drop the s…

Hi all, Got a chance to buy a 2006 FZ1 N:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281631805127?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Now the bike has a ton of nice extras, and looks beautiful, mileage is ok and the guy is putting 12 months MOT on it and a new rear tyre. Problem is, upon reflection, he has obviously been racing with it (the mods make it fairly obvious), also he says the first stamp is in the service book and the rest of the services he has done himself (which i guess is possible, i know some guys that do it so why not) 2 previous owners, and he has owned the bike himself for about 3 years. Now, do i take the gamble and get …

I would ask for some help here please. Me and my dad have both ridden our R125 (me on private land) and we both noticed the back brake does not seem to work. Either we arent pushing hard enough (I've tried my full weight (10 stone)to no avail). If this is normal and the pads just need wearing in or something thats fine if not we will take it back to the dealer since its under warranty still and get them to sort it Cheers guys all input is appreciated

I thought it might be handy to have some areas where people can put their own reviews across on certain parts that relate to Yamaha Sports bikes. I thought i would start of on tyres as my rear is almost shot and about time to replace. I have used the Dunlop 208's that came on the R6 originally and the Dunlop rear as used on the 2007 model but they just dont seem ot wear too well. I have now switched to a Michelin Pilot Power on the front and going to try one on the rear and so far the front has performed amazingly they give loads of grip and confidence that i never got from the dunlop front. Am not sure about wear yet but we'll see how long it lasts! Ive a…

I own a 2008, Yamaha V Star 250 that I upgraded with a tachometer and a wind-deflector. I went ahead and changed my front and rear sprockets from 16/45 to 17/38. The change is hard to believe. There is no clutch slippage in 1st gear and great acceleration in all gears including 1st. I had it at 75 mph at 5,900 rpm in 5th gear. If I had done this with the stock sprockets the rpm's calculated would have been 7,500 rpm. I am 5 ft 10. inches and weigh 200 lbs, yet this bike has a lot of torque and acceleration even with the 17/38 change, and best of all riding on the interstate is now very possible. I have just over 500 miles on the bike now, and still in the break in 1000 mi…

Recently purchased an '07 V Star 1100 Classic Silverado. This weekend my husband put new Yamaha Passing Lights on (not a fun job). I now discover my windshield has to be raised and the plastic chrome colored piece that previously covered the center of the light bar will not fit back on since this new light bar is not straight in the middle. Any solutions from anyone? I actually LIKED the windshield positioned low and the cover on the light bar hid some things that made it look clean and finished. Thanks! Kathie

Howdy, I'm new here so please be gentle. I'm writing a piece for GEARHEAD NEWS here in Chicago, and I need to know what changes have occured in the V-Max model since the inception in 1985. I have pix and data on the first and current model (2006) but I need to find some details on changes during that 21 year span. Any links or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanx, Doug

Hi guys, I'm planning to put forward controls on my 2004 V-Star 1100 Custom. I'm blown away with the cost in doing so... $500 - $600. I came across some forward extensions on Ebay today. These are made in either 4" or 6"; the pictures on Ebay are the 6" version. Do any of you have these, and if so, what are your thoughts? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-V-St...sspagenameZWDVW Thanks, Tom

Hi I have an FZ600 1988. My front suspension is a little bit too soft. I'm planning on hardening it. I'm not sure if I should add and equal amout of ouil (2 tbsp) on both forks. Or add some air pressure into it. I think that putting aire pressure would be a better idea but is having the same pressure on both forks hard to do ? I have a compressor by the way. BeerBaron

We purchased what we were told is a 1969 125 street bike that we plan on restoring. The bike has two cylinders which leads me to believe it is larger that a 125. I have the VIN number (081-007919) but can not find a way to decode it. Any suggestions?
