I have been trying to locate information about how the Yamaha engine guards install onto the Roadliner/Stratoliner. I can see how they attach to the bottom of the frame, but I cannot see how they attach to the top of the frame. Can someone who has installed these or knows how they are installed tell me the how they attach? I stopped by the Yamaha dealer and they could not tell me. How wierd is that? Thanks

Hi all; I was dead set on a Vulcan 1600 Nomad until I stopped by a dealer today and looked at, touched and sat on a Stratoliner S. Did some research and so far the only things that popped up as possible negatives are: 1) Handle bars are too wide & 2) Might be difficult to cover the clutch & brake if hands are too small as levers are non adjustable. I am of a normal (whatever that is) male size of 5'10" with a 30 inch inseam and I guess medium size hands. I know we all love the bikes we ride but I would appreciate any input on these subjects or anything else I should be aware of. By the way I think I am getting a great deal on a new 06 at…

I recently bought my first motorcycle. I am planning on replacing the tires in about a month and a half and was seriously considering road slicks. Has anyone used them or can anyone make any recommendations on a brand? Also, is it a bad idea to use slicks and why?

Ok, my FZR600 Genesis has a Pass button on the left handlebar - What does it do? I'm guessing its a flashing button to save switching between low/high beam. Does it only work when travelling as I've tested the button from stationary and it does nothing.

Hello all. Never used a forum before so apologies if not using right! Ok, so my son has a 2006 dt 125r. Its running boggy so cleaned air filter, changed plug etc. I have looked at the various carb screws and am confused. The idle screw seems obvious enough in the centre of the left side of the carb, and what I assume is the air mixture screw is to the right of this and recessed and smaller. This was all the way in but the bike gets worse if I unscrew it the 1 1/4 turns people seem to recommend. Now heres the thing; on the right side of the carb is a threaded hole that seems to need something in it? the threads seem clean as though something has fallen out. Any ideas what …

Action shot - PLJphoto Gordon loved his run out at Pembrey taking a 2nd in the 5th round of the championship - however it wasn't all plain sailing... Check out his blog Gordon's Blog I am not just pleased with the result though, with all the hard work of his 'special friends' he is now a 'good bike' to ride, and with a couple more tweaks, will become a 'great bike' for the track. Don't forget £60 will get you a 1 in 100 chance to win him. Bloke.

Hey guys just a quick one. Is it actually possible to change a GSXR headlights from the 1997 version to say a 2004ish version? The bikes are nice but the headlights are ghastly? Cheers guys ChristianSRA

Im looking at a rather nice R6, 2001, 15000 miles. Im upgrading from a Suzuki SV650S that ive been riding for 18 months. Has anyone else experienced a similar upgrade and what differences can i expect to find? I believe the 4cyl bikes are higher revving than a Vtwin, does it take much getting used to? Ive only ever ridden twins. Any input would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hi, I am looking into doing a swing are swap on my 1988 FZ600. I have heard different things about whether this is possible or not. Does anyone have any information on an R6 swing arm fitting on my bike? Thanks

Hey guys, newbie here. I just picked up a '94 FZR 600 for $500 as a winter project. It has been kept outside for the past 3 years and is in need of a fresh powdercoating along with new plastics and such...after a few hundred cans of brake clean are used on it and it is power washed. However, I want to swap out the swingarm for something a bit wider so I can fit a beefier tire on the rear. Will any year R6/R1 swingarm bolt up without too many problems? If minor custom fab work is needed thats not really a problem. Thanks

  16. Hello folks, I have a late 1994 M-Reg UK Yamaha FZR600R Foxeye Does anyone know what model number this is? I need a new swinging arm as mine is rusted to buggery and they're cheap on ebay but I need to make sure it will fit before I buy. Some on there say things like 3he, 4jh - what is mine? Will the swinging arm be the same as, for example, a 1991 FZR600? How can I find out? Also, anyone know where I can get a swinging arm as cheap as ebay? Cheers KaiBosh

what would be the cheapest way out for me. i have a 93 yamaha yzf 750sp with 39mm flatslide carbs that i was going to take out and rejet! only thing ive done is clean the carbs and put back on the bike to make sure it ran! and i dont know anything about sycronizing the carbs, but was told that there is a tool to do so! and since i clean the carb and all the jetts once it should be less difficult for me to rejet it right!

My SZR 660 has no fairing. It has had it removed plus the bars are now MotoX style renthals and the headlamp is seemingly off a Suzuki ( Its huge ) Now, the radiator is now exposed as is the radiator fan etc, and I was wondering if there is some bottom half of a fairing that I can use for this bit. I am very happy with the way the light and the screen is now, I just need that lower part. Some pics of my bike are here www.fatrakoon.co.uk/szr660/index.htm Thanks in advance for any tips you might have for me.

  20. Thanks to all 'Gordons' "special friends" that have helped to get him ready in time for the next round of the Supermono championship at Pembrey. He now has a spanking new, super fancy exhaust by Mark at MHP, and thanks to a new yoke supplied via JDMCC, he can now sport the Ducati forks. All these mods certainly make the £60 for a 1 in 100 chance of winning him look even more attractive. Looking forward to trying out his new set up somewhere before getting on track at Pembrey. Bloke.
