Hi I'm looking to upgrade my sr125 but I've only got a restricted license. I've found a yamaha srx400 (33bhp) going cheap but I don't know anything about it. Wondered if anyone out there could point me towars some info about buying this bike or some decent general info about buying imports. Many thanks

Hi guys, i have just bought a very cheap Divvy 600 1992 but it has got teeth missing where the starter should engage (not on the starter itself) i decided that maybe i should strip the engine out of the bike and take it to a dealer to do!!! well its all strppied exept for the rear engine mount bolt that turns but will not allow itself to be removed...Any Ideas ????? and once out is it a big job to change the said gear ???? Your comments will be appreciated....

I'm new here and I'm sure this topic ha been covered but I can't find it. Please help. 2006 R1 24000 miles My bike was began to have trouble starting. It would crank, lights would cut out, clicking sound and it sounded like the battery died. I replaced with a new battery and the same thing happened. Then I jumped the battery with a car battery, Bike started and then started several times thereafter. Now the bike will not start. Even after charging with a trickle charger. Could it be my starter? Starter relay ot just a bad battery. Both batteries are gel batteries. I'm hoping that the gel batteries just suck. Please help.

Hi all! i was thinking of buying a 2004 R6 restricted because of my licence. Alot of people said the earlier ones were twitchy i wanted to know if it is the same with these ones and also if it is worth fitting a steering damper?

Hi-- On my Yamaha Virago, the steering lock is engaged by turning the handlebars fully to the right, after which, of course, you can't turn them back. My question is-- I was taught to always park the bike with the handlebars cranked -left- for maximum stability. Any opinions on whether the stability is compromised by using the steering lock? thx

Hi all, looking for some help please. To be honest it this relates to a Gilera that I have and is fitted with a Teikei 2 X 30 mm E30 PV 2A carb which I believe is used on some Yamaha singles from the past. I have fitted a ' performance ' exhaust and air filter, now runs as flat as the proverbial , no info that I can find on how to re-tune the carb to suit! Can anyone help please? Thanks Stephen

The self diagnostic system on my 04 plate Fazer 1000 is telling me that there is a problem with the EXUP valve. Is there an easy way to free it off, is it a job I could attempt myself & will it damage the engine if I still use the bike?

So as you guys know, Im doing my test pretty soon, Was gonna get a 250, But now im thinking of getting a bigger bike, getting it restricted and waiting for those 2 years to fly by so i can de-restrict it and go fast! i have a 1982 virago 750. and well when i bought it. it had aftermarket pipes and such. well i re-jeted the carbs for the pipes(last owners didn't). well even before the jet work it idled on one cyclinder(rear). well now that i jeted it it runs like poop and well since me and carb don't mix too well anymore i'm at a loss what to do. i check compression and the non-idling cyclinder has more compression the the one that does work. i checked for a valve being too tight. the intke valve was a tad too tight but not by much. if i mess with the syncronizing screw the front cyclinder starts to work a little but then the rear starts to die out. the after a few seconds the bike st…

Hi friends, i am in the process of getting my bike in good shape , i need the main & pilot jet sizes for my bikes carburetor. it has Mikuni BST34 (diaphragm Carburetor). I believe the model of my bike is somewhere in 90's to have this carburetor. If you guys know this, please let me know, i searched everywhere, finding a manual is not easy either . Also if you know correct float height settings let me know, thanks a million.

Hi all, Does any one have any idea where I can find the standard suspension settings for an 03 R6 ?? Im gonna try and fiddle with my settings a little and wanted to start off at the beginning but cant find out the original factory settings (bought the bike 2nd hand so its been 'tweaked' already) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Some thieving scumbags stole my pride and joy last night 21/22-08-08. '08 R6 Red/White Quite distinctive as i fitted Genuine Yamaha parts white tail plastics in place of matt black and pillion cover in white with black pad. Also R&G Titanium colour tail tidy, R&G swingarm spools, Acrapovic megaphone, Yamaha tinted double bubble screen. I know its a long shot but if anyone sees it or has any info, let me know!!

Recently bought an older (1988) Fz600 and brought it home and left it until i had more time to work on it. I forgot about the type of neighborhood i live in (not so good) it only took about a couple of weeks for me to hear voices of kids at night coming from around my bike. I scared them off, and now a few more weeks later, now that i have more time to work on it, i discover the bastards were shoving handfuls of pebbles in to my gas tank! I removed everything off it (petcock, cap, float and fuel level assembly) and have gotten the most of them out by trying to get them to roll over any of the three holes. Please help! ANY TIPS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I might just give in to the cold and store the bike now for the winter. How do I prepare i for hibernation?

this is clearly a 86-88 FZ600.. what kind of tail is on it? and, has anyone done anything similar to this to their FZ600? thanks, erik
