i just replaced the number plate on my bike as the old one was ruined because of the plonker who had the bike before me had added a new can but put it in the wrong place, as a result of this it bubbled my number plate and got it all greasy and was dripping gunk onto the wheel (not good). so i oredered a new plate but decided to be stupid and order it an inch smaller so rather then being the proper 9 *7 its an 8 *6. who is going to be bothered by this, would it fail its mot?? also i have decresed the size of the L-plate due to it cracking. who else has a smaller plate?

Hello everyone (new boy) My r1 needs a new clutch. I am not sure if its even a uk bike now as the frame number starts jyarno and the engine number starts n501e a mate says it should start 4xv7 its on a t plate and there is nothing on the v5 to suggest its an import and as the clutch part numbers are different for a 98 and 99 i really dont know which one .Any advice would be appreciated. My bike is from 2004, with the ECU ending 00 and the TPS is A1. I have read in several treads that the TPS need to be changed to A2, but what do I tell the Yamaha store if they do not know anything about the problem? I have a 08 r6s and want to know what kind of oil to use when I take it out of storage. Since there are so many out there I want to be sure. Yeah I know but I dont want to go to the dealer.

Hi Guy's I need a little help, new old old rider just passed test and got myself a YZF thundercat and havn't stopped grinnin yet. Anyway where do I check the oil. I can find any sight glass or dipstick. any help would be great.

hey, This newbie just bought an '82 750 seca and am changing the oil and filter on it. Does the filter drop into the bottom of the housing with the flat rubber washer fashing front? (the old filter had front stamped on it, the new doesn't) This puts the spring on the motor side of the filter. Any help would be appreciated, I was too busy with twisting the hot filter housing in between the even hotter muffler pipes. Also, where is the middle gear drain plug, under the muffler skid plate? hey guys can u help me out my oil light comes on a it wont turn off i was reving my bike in the garage reved it up to 8000 and the oil light just come on and wont turn off there is engine oil and 2 stroke oil and when i rev it i can smell 2 stroke someone help cheers luke!!!!!!!!!!!!! :twisted:

I have an R1 1998 model, my oil light keeps coming on and off when I am riding it, but there is plenty oil in it....has anyone else experienced this and do you know what the problem could be...?

The other day I was staying over a friends house in Conn. it was cold that night maybe 50 degrees out in the morning about 5:30am. I started my bike and waited for the temp to reach like 115 then I made off for work. after like half a block the oil light came on and I know the oil is full I had the 600 mile service last month and I checked it a week ago. what could be the reason? Cold weather or I didnt wait long enough? Im a new rider so sorry for the silly questions.

ok to get my top speed on my yzf 125..wat do i do ..do i shift gers in red zone.....cuz im shifting at 7rpm im only geting 68 mph in ...so if i waz to get 83 mph do i shift in red zone??? on last gear its so hard sorry about speeling 1 ov my down sides:(((((((((((((((((

Hi guys my mates dad is possibly selling one of these and i should get first offer of it its J reg with 84000 on the clock it needs a bit of a tidy up but nothing major it seems to run well other than the clutch needing bleed as has trouble down shifting(mates dad said he would fix that).. just after any info with regards to pros and cons of the bike in general and anything else i should be checking if i get the offer of it... cheers the now guys

Well it looks like I was charged well over the odds for my bike! I came to try and sell it and I was expecting to take a bit of a loss maybe £1000 after having owned the bike for about 9 months but no! In fact the value of it is less than half of what I paid for it, £2200 so I would be losing £2600 in 9 months for a bike that was second hand when I bought it! I just got my 1985 Yamaha Maxim X from my uncle. It sat in his kitchen, yes kitchen for at least 12 months. After getting my carbs done, I started her and rode her a lil on Sat. nite. It wasn't long before she started to go into the red. Rode back down the street and the fan comes on. Rode for bout 10 more minutes and fan hasn't been back on since. But it still runs hot. Could my thermostat be gone? Is this the true sign of a stuck thermostat or has the 24 year old thermostat called it quits? Since I did hear and see the fan come on, could that be a faulty wire on the fan motor? Somebody help me please. I'm ready to ride my bike but I want her to be riding righ…
