I just bought a 2002 vstar 650 custom. I'm looking to get a sissybar so my wife feels a little more secure on it. But i was wondering if 1100 parts will fit on a 650? I know the backrest will, but I'm not sure about the mounting brackets. Someone told me most accesories should fit because 1100 and 650 have about the same body just a different motor. Anyhow, any help is appreciated.

I bought this just awhile ago and have ridden it very little. However this happened today. I just filled up my tank with a fuel jug so I wasn't riding it. Put in enough to almost fill it up...started it up and she ran ok but then I noticed it missed a little. Turned it off and noticed fuel pour out through the carbs...I couldn't get it to stop, the petcock wouldn't stop and it came pouring from inside the carb, I pulled the air cleaners and finally had to pull the tank before it went all over my garage. What would allow gas to keep going like that? Shouldn't it stop if I don't use the accelerator? Help me to understand where to start...thanks!!

Hi all, I've just bought my first bike! It's a DT 125 RE & I pick it up on Wednesday (can't wait!). I went for the DT because of my height (6' 5") & it seemed to get good reviews. Is there anything about this model in terms of maintenance etc that differers from other bikes that, as a newbie, I should know about? Cheers, Mateus

Hi all I'm new on so bare with me please . I recently purchased a 2001 R1 which is the mutts nuts and I love Last week after a short ride out I came to start the bike after a short stop and the battery was dead . I subsequently had to bump it 3 or 4 times that day . I have a datatool Digi gear indicator which also stop working (instead of the gear I was in it kept showing me strange symbols or letters ) Then the gear indicater started working again and when I got home my battery was working and it all appeared normal .... I don't think that the gear indicator is in anyway involved it was just an indicator for when the battery was being charged or not ... Anyw…

Hey guys I am new to this froum and I would like a little bit of advice on the following bikes. I am thinking about buying 1 of these 3 Yamaha YZF-R1, GSX-R1000, and the Hayabusa. I don't know who makes better bike out of Yamaha and Suzuki. This will be my first motorcyle. I wish to invest in a nice fast bike, I will enjoy only on weekends. I have a fews guys in my gym that own these brand of motorcycles. I am also going to take a class so I can control the power of one of these top of the line motorcycles. I know you guys are Yamaha fan boys but what are you opinions on Suzuki?? You can also contact me on AIM: CarlChristan

Hi there, First of all, hello to all of you. I am based in Japan & recently purchased a Yamaha Dragstar 400 classic with all manuals in Japanese There is a yamaha club here as well, but again - all in japanese. This model is same as xvs 650 clasic sold in US (not sure about UK) except that 400 cc engines are more common in Japan. I would appriciate if you can help me with a few questions 1. my bike's idling was way too high & it was literally drinking gas, so I lowed it down to minimum & now it seems to be much better on mileage. Is there any adverse effect of keeping idling to bare mimimum ? I always warm up engine well using choke befo…

Hi Just stumbled in here after some web browsing for R6 info. At the minute i ride a Honda NC30, and i love it to death. But middle of next year i'm thinking about getting an R6 so that the NC30 can be polished to death. Anyway, i'm looking price wise at the earlier R6's, which helps as i prefer the looks to the newer ones (what the hell is that off-cut of plastic about on the new ones!?) lol I've seen a couple of the yellow/black Kenny Roberts paintjobs knocking about on the roads and think they look stunning? Are these limited editions or custom paintjobs or did they come standard at any time? Cheers, Craig.

Well, I'm officially switching to Yamaha and am coming over from the Honda side to the FJR. I have a chance to buy a bike at a great price at a dealership a few towns over, or get a great buy that is $500 more by staying in my town. I like the idea of supporting a local business but $500 is a lot of money. The more expensive dealer says that he assembles the bikes in shop and he can promise far superior set up to the D&D guys (ding and dent) who set up large dealership bikes. Does anyone have experience with setups and is it worth the extra 5 bills for a nice guy in a nearby shop? Thanks in advance for all opinions!

Hello and good afternoon to all I have been a car driver since the age of 17....im now 29 - where did the time go? well, anyways, as I was nearing my mid-life crisis, I decided to undertake a huge trip with 2 other people in a 1 liter nissan micra - nicknamed the ghengis car - I drove from london UK to Ulaanbator, Mongolia. After a lot of planning, countless visas, lots of american dollars, corrupt border officials and everything going wrong.....5 weeks later I arrived at UB, tired, dirty, smelly, proud and somewhat fragile after eating nothing but mutton and noodles for a whole week. Upon my arrival I decided 9813 miles wasn't enough, I got my arse over to Beiji…
