Hi guys. I got a fj1200 last month, stood for 2years. Well, got the bike, fitted rings, spark plugs and cleaned the carbs. When trying to sync the carbs, it doesnt idle. Mixture screws is 2 turns out, float correct, jets(pilot and main) newly fitted. Bike runs well if I close the intake of the 4th cylinder carb. Gas going to all the carbs, Struggles to start as well. while i am keeping the bike running with the accelerator and sprying some engine start on carb no 4, it runs well for a few seconds. Took the carb apart, and now if I crank the engine, gas spits out of the air jet. WTF! any anwsers?

Im just curious since i dont know much about bikes but im about to purchase one Im looking at the history of a bike, engine number is 3HG002169 and states its done over 200000km from 1993-2010 after that its has a different number QE80000223 which the speedo only reads under 10000km from what i can see is that the speedo has been reset to new engine. do these engine numbers mean anything as to capacity size or the engine has been replaced with different a model? thanks

Hi guys and girls- it's been a while... So I was cruising from Warwick to Southampton yesterday, and i was coming down the A34 just by Newbury when I felt something pushing on the inside of my right knee- it felt like a strong wind almost. So I glanced down, and as I moved my leg to get a good look the side panel made a dramatic bid for freedom- leaping acrobatically from my bike before crashing to the tarmac some way behind me... And here I am, one side panel down, and wondering "where the hell am I going to get a right hand side panel for a 1991 XJ600?" (before anyone asks- it's not a diversion!) Any ideas guys? Muchas gracias

  11. Allen bolt/ PIN is stripped and Im having a terrible time locating this part. All part searches show a pin that does not have threading. The local dealer also just refers to the part in the Yamaha online micro fish where its shows just a pin and clip. I looked for a used caliper online and also see this, its listed as a 89-93 but has pins Anyone familiar with this type of pin and what bikes have them? Are their different types of pins that Yamaha uses? Please anyone with a 1992 FZR help

A few questions. Looking at a bike that a local Junkyard has for sale. It appears to have been laid down somewhat hard. The front right fairing is cracked and has small pieces missing here and there. Right side rearview mirror is busted off of the mounting arm. Secondary seat is missing. (The elevated seat cushion above the one the rider would sit on. The windscreen is cloudy (just looks like from age) and there is a Red wire that is sticking out from under the gas tank overhang on the right side (looks like it might have gone to the battery, it's bare at the end that is sticking out.) The hand grips are very worn. It has 78k on the odometer. It does have a cl…

So, I took my Seca 2 out for the 1st ride of the year after a long winter. It turns out that my battery is so dead it'll kill my bike if I don't my my rpm over 1500. I'm now in the market of a new battery and the book calls for YTX9-BS. However, the pervious owner put a YTZ12S MF in it. And now I'm thinking about maybe getting a YTZ14S. I am wondering if there is anything against this move. Thanks! Vincent

Hey everybody, just joined. I've got a 92 Seca II that I'm having some problems with. I bought it in May of this year with 7600 miles on it and I rode it about 4000 miles with no problems. Then, one night the lights got dim and it started to die at low RPM's. I kept it revved up and made it home and found the battery dead. I took it to Advance and got it tested, thinking it had dropped a cell or shorted, but it checked good. They charged it for me, checked it again and it was good. With no load, the battery had 12.9 volts and with the bike off, but the ignition on (headlights and ignition energized) it showed 12.6 volts. When I started it, it dropped to about 12.4…

I want to buy an FZR and was prepared to spend 2000 if needed but I'd have to sell my 81 yamaha cafe racer. This was a sad idea but I was prepared to do so. I just found a bike with a clean title that needs some work. That's fine because I am motorcycle savvy and did all the work on the 81 yamaha and others myself. The work: He claims that the shift forks need to be replaced and his motorcycle mechanic buddy told him that. When I went and checked it out, he told me that he has trouble getting past third. I don't remember if he said second doesn't work or not (I know that's a problem for FZRs) but I think it was just getting past third. So I'm wondering if I'm …

Hello all. I've just bought a 1993 SR125 for my gf to learn on, unfortunatly I when I was looking at it I didn't notice the bend in the front wheel (doh!), not really a problem as I didn't pay too much for it, 'cept it needs to be fixed! My question is this: Does anyone know if the 1993 SR125 came with drum front brake or disc front brake as standard? My one is disc, but I wandered if it had been 'upgraded'.... Also, can anyone see why a front wheel of a later model wouldn't fit? Cheers...
