After 5000 miles on my fz6 my head baring has broken. The warranty has expiered by a couple of months and iI now have a bill of around £170. I am not an aggressive rider in the fact I don't wheelie down the roads. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I was wondering if i was to put thicker oil (MOTUL FORK OIL EXPERT, MEDIUM/HEAVY 15W ) in the front forks would this give me less dive when applying the breaks therfore cause less stress on the front end? PLEASE HELP!

Well it obviously had to happen, tightening down the last nut the stud started turning in the alloy cush drive. It felt wrong tightening to the specified torque settings, but I stupidly continued. Anyone know what helicoils I need to refit a stud?

Hi everyone, Just thought that I would post an intro as I have been browsing the sight for a while and because of this I've got the biking bug back after to much time away from it. I've had my FZR since 96 and for the last 5 years it has been sitting in the back garden housing mice and spiders, until yesterday, when I started stripping it down for a rebuild and respray. I've ordered some parts of ebay and then hopefully will get it to the shotblasters in the next 2 weeks and then get it powdercoated. Looking around the forum has given me some great ideas and inspiration for what I would like to do with the bike, however I have 2 sticking points, 1: can up …

Hello, my name is Ryan and ive been a alcoholic for 4..... errr whoops, wrong forum I recently purchased a 2007 yamaha C3 and have enjoyed the whole 2000 miles i have put on her. I am just using her for my training wheels and wanted to pick the brains of all those that reside in the Yamaha forums. I am waiting anxiously for the summer months to come around in Oregon so i can get a decent trade in value for my C3. Well anyway, what would you say is the most reliable bike, that is both good in midrange RPM's but has good revability?? I have not put that many miles on two wheels so something that isn't too difficult to ride would also be nice. I want to stay under $9,00…

Hello there ppl, I've just purchased one of these little FZ750 beauties, its a 1991 model, this was to be used as a second bike to my Vmax, thing is, I can't keep off it It's one one hell of a ride and well underated as a serious contender to some newer plastics. After doing all the major checks It took to the road with a mate who has an R1, I was astounded by the performance and on a clear road opened her up and she went well past the 150mph clock, my mate was along side on his R1 and told me he was doing around 160mph, I had to shut her down as we ran out of road and it was still pulling. Now I'm not sure if people still use this forum regularly, but if they d…

First of all hi to everyone on the board! I am a new member and as such I´d like to introduce myself. I have lived arround the world and I´m now based in Argentina. I have had several Yamahas. Virago 750, 1997 gen1 Vmax, 2007 Mt01. Lots of fun!!! Now comes the question: Can someone give me clear differences between a R6 and a R1, I want a sports bike and found half of the shelf talking goodies about the R1 and the other about R6. I know they are both superb bikes. One detail, I am not going to use it in a race track!! Thanks in advance!

Hi folx I am a first time Yamaha owner. Passed my test last week after doing the commuter thing on a Suzuki VL 125 for the last year.... I am currently getting to grips with a 1992 FZR 600 Genesis....Possibly not the most sensible choice for a first big bike, but now I am getting used the phenomenal acceleration and persuading her to do low speeds without sneaking up to something she is more comfortable with I am becoming more commited to her... I am worried about my wife finding out about my new relationship tho...

Hi Name's Martin, been an XJR1300 owner since September 2002, totally love the bike, on my 2nd one and done over 50,000 miles between both bikes. The XJR has rubbed on to my wife as she started off two years ago on an old 1200 and received her first brand new 1300 as an early birthday present last March. I've just completed the maddest day o my life, before Christmas, two friends and me went from the Ace cafe in London to the Arc De Triomphe, Paris, and back to the Ace in 15 hours. I'm the tall one built like a small village.......... Post a better pic of the bike soon, when I got one uploaded, but here is a pic of my "other" Yamaha.........

I just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I just recently got a 2008 R6S and decided to find a forum that would help and educate me. This is my first time owning a motorcycle of any kind. I have never rode before only to take my road test. Any ideas as to how I should ride and what mods I can do to it. Thanks to all.
