Someone must have come up against this before. Tried putting my FZ1-N onto my Micron paddock stand for the first time yesterday to oil the chain only to find the bike very unstable. Looking at it this seems to be because the swinging arm is straight at the left side but curves up at the right side. Does anyone know of a solution for this-Cheers, Kev.

Hi all-Kev here, just bought an FZ1-N (yes the naked one) in November so only been out on it twice but looking forward to the warmer weather and some dry roads. My question is can anyone recommend a flyscreen/small fairing for this bike and if so do they have any pictures of these fitted to there bikes. Christmas money is burning a hole in my pocket already. i just bought a new 2007 fazer 1000 and i have bought a scot oiler. The web site shows a nice picture of the pipe that i need to connect the vacuum t piece into. trouble is that i cannot find a pipe that looks like this. Do i need to take a panel off or remove the tank? I dont't want to go removing stuff just to look for this vacuum pipe, so and more specific instructions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Peter PS the 2007 fazer is fixed, the throttle response is loads better than the 2006 model i tested.

I intend to buy an FZ6 this spring. I currently own a Kawasaki KLR 650 that vibrates so bad, it puts my hands to sleep after 10 or 15 minutes. I know thumpers vibrate, but I have gotten to the point that I don't enjoy riding it anymore. I read every report I could find on the FZ6 and all the reports say that most of the quirks with the FZ were taken care of in the 2007 model. One report said that above 5000 rpm, the handlebars buzz to the point of putting your hands to sleep on long trips. I would like to know if the virbation they are talking about is really that bothersome or if it is something that I can live with.

Could an FZ6 owner tell me what the RPMs are in 6th gear at 60 mph? Thanks.

I just bought a 2006 Blue FZ6. I pick it up this Saturday. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type soft or hard bags to use. Also what about the chin fairing...is it worth it? Thanks Travis

Hi, i'm hoping someone will be able to give me some advice on fitting renthal streetfighter bars on my fz6. The problem is the stock bars have locating holes in them for the switchgear, however the renthal bars don't. I'm not sure whether or not it would be safe to drill holes in the new bars or whether it would weaken them too much. Does anyone know any other way to fix them? All advice would be much appreciated. Found a mint 1999 Fazer... its got 17500 on the clock.. I intend to put big mileage on the bike about 40K, lots of motorway work.. Will the engine last? for how long?? How easy is it to self service?? How easy are the vlave adjustments?? Will the fazer last english winters and the road salt, is the corrossion excessive..? Are the clutches easy to replace and obtain parts for??

Hi all, I'm 24 and I´m looking to buy my first bike. The list has shortened and the last options are the Yam Fazer and the Honda Hornet. Same price, though the half fair seem very sedductive. All the reviews are complaining about the midrange gap in the charts... How would that annoy me as a begginer? Could I learn to live with it? Even if I get a test ride I don't think I'm able yet to make a comparisson due to my lack of experience... My riding would by mostly in the city (Bucharest - Romania, quite a crowded one) and short trips of 200 - 400km. Has anyone *toured* with this bike? Thanks & Cheers

i,ve recently purchased a 2006 fz 6 fazer 600, although due to the crap weather i,ve yet to try it out. with regard to the headlight s, the left hand light facing forward seems to be permanent dip,whilst the right hand light comes on full beam when switched, but otherwise is unlit....obviously the two small side lights are on constantly....is this as it should be cheers ,mike

Evening Folks. I am after a bit of advice - I am looking to change the twin exhaust on my FZ6 Fazer S2 07/08 Model for something a bit less plasticy looking and meatier sounding. The questions I have are : I am looking for a nice sound, LEGAL, and still within limits for track days.......Any recommendations (It is to go with a Black Fazer, so had thought about a carbon look, also not after something that will cost my arm and leg......need those to ride.) If changing the exhaust (and possible system, as stainless steel will weather winter better than the standard rust hungry effort) do I need to get a power commander or such like, if so, what recommendations. …

Help!!! I have a 2006 faired fazer 600 and above 80 mph i gat a lot of vibration through the handlebars, more so when 2 up does anyone else hve the same problem or even a cure

Hi there, I was wondering what octane fuel I should use in my 06 Yamaha FZ6. The owners manual says regular or 87 octane fuel. I was noticing that the compression ratio is 12:2:1 so would a higher octane fuel help the performance any? I live in CA USA, octanes are 87, 89, 91. Also does anyone recommend a certain brand of fuel? I usually go with Chevron.

I'm running a 2005 FZ6 Fazer with the following problems: 1. Switch on from cold, idle is very low (less than 850rpm). If not revved will stop. Unable to increase idle speed. 2. Engine running temperature takes a long time to reach, and when it does, engine will stall if not revved because of low rpm. 3. Very poor fuel consumption (about 100-120 miles to the tank), and running rich (black smoke when revved high). There doesn't appear to be a lack in overall performance except for the above problems, and costing me a fortune in fuel.
