Hiya guys... I am thinkin of buyin a Dynojet Kit and instaling it myself. Two questions.. 1) Is a Dynojet kit EVERYTHING I need for a complete carb overhaul ? or will I still need these emultion tube jet thingies ? 2) Does anyone know if its a easy-ish job to do if I take my time ? Also is there any reference to performing this installation on the web which might help me ? or any hints and tips as to installation ? Cheers.

I have a Yamaha FZR600R and a month ago fitted little neon lights. No problems there. Recently had heated grips fitted too. It went fine for 20 miles or so, then cut out on the motorway. No warning, no spluttering, just zero engine power. I pulled onto the hard shoulder and tried restarting the engine. The starter motor was very perky and the lights were on full beam i.e the battery was not flat - it just wouldn't start as if I had no petrol (full tank before you ask). I called the RAC and the guy tested the battery. With the lights and hotgrips on there was only 12.7V at the battery which is one whole volt less than it needs. He jump-started it and it went fine (hot …

I have a YZF 600R Thundercat that has an intermittent problem. Occasionally, and under load, when it gets to 5500 rpm it feels as if it has a spark missing. This goes on till 6500 rpm when it clears. I have bought a new coil and swapped them around. I have bought new plugs. I have had the carbs off, cleaned them out and also replaced the fuel filter. Could it be the plug caps and if so where can I get some as they seem to be rarer than chickens’ teeth? The only other things I can think of are the throttle sensor and the management system, but naturally these are going to be expensive to buy just to eliminate them. Could this be a bigger problem than I think? Hel…

Free bike parking for motorcyclists could be scrapped nationally because information needed to oppose the move has been kept from riders, according to campaigners. Under law people have six months to object to new parking charges for motorcycles becoming permanent. But public notices telling riders vanished within days of the charges being introduced. A campaign group says motorcyclists across the country will lose long-standing free bike parking bays and urges riders to sign the group’s petition on Number 10’s website at Deadline to sign up by: 06 March 2009 http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/bikeparkingfees/

Hi, I previously posted a topic about XJ6 engine noise. Thanks for the replies. Today I rode about 80 miles. I noticed that once warm and pulling around 2000 revs in first or second I hear a slight winning noise. No knocking etc just a progressive wine. Is this normal. I haven't had such a new bike before and don't know what to expect. Probably talking rubbish. Any thoughts? Cheers Arthur

Looking at a first big bike (Divi/Fazer type) ... Comparing bikes I have seen quite a few with varying 'protection'. My question is, is there a noticable difference between engine bars and crash bungs. I'm not intending to prang the bike (little bike [YBR] did blow over in the gales!) but curious as to opinions on whether one is noticably better as an option to the other. Thanks

Hi guys, I'm relatively new to biking - obtained my Direct Access July 2010 and have already completed 9032 miles since to date. The bike has got her regular stamps in the book from the garage. My XJ6 F abs has already had it's computer unit changed a few months' ago due to the same problem now reoccurring. She cuts out between 1st and 2nd, or 2nd and 3rd, only below 60 degrees C. This puts me in a dangerous predicament particularly when moving away at junctions. Anyone had a similar experience? Let me know a fix! Cheers, Mic.

I recently bought a 2003 YZF 600R. The bike is in great condition and has been running very well. There have been a few times when I start it up in neutral and it idles around 1000rpms and then cuts off, even if i try and give it gas. When this has happened I have turned the choke on and then it is fine but i thought i didnt have to use the choke unless it is cold or the bike has sat for numerous days. Just wondering what the problem is. This is my first bike after taking the MSF course so I would not be suprised if it is something simple im missing. I dont have the owners manual either. Thanks.
