Hi guys, I'm thinking about buying a 2008 R6 in graphite (with the red logo) and just wanted to know the differences between 2008 and 2007/2006 models apart from the different colour schemes. Are there any engineering upgrades at all? Secondly when I do purchase one , what are the best options for removing the ugly indicators? I heard about some flush mount ones and an integrated rear light with indicators built in (all found on ebay). Any problems with MOT's, particularly with 'smoked' ones? Any help would be sweet, I can't wait to get an R6! Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm a newcomer to this site and would just like to take the opportunity to say hello and congrats on the great website. I'm not a Yamaha Owner (yet) but I am looking to take delivery of a Yamaha R1 in the next couple of weeks. The one in particular I have my eye on is a 98 Model with 40,000kms, and I just looking to do a mechanical inspection before I take it home. My question is what sort of things should I be looking for with regards to this model i.e. were there any major / minor faults that plagued this model, or is there any particular part of this bike I should pay particular attention to, and if so, what should I be looking for? …

Hello everyone I have been riding a 125 Yamaha Cygnus for just over a year but can't resist getting a geared bike any longer so I'm looking to buy a used YBR. I use it for doing small journeys; rarely more than 20 miles or so. I have no experience buying vehicles second-hand so can anybody give me any tips, or advice on what to check for? I've heard that the YBR can suffer from rust, is there anything else specific that you would recommend I look out for? Any general advice would be great too! Thanks and happy riding, Ryan

hi all, Ive got the chance to get a 1999 TZR125R, but am not sure what to look for on it, other than the obvious signs of damage, crashes etc. Do TZR's have kown problems with them, if so what are they? Its got 10,000 miles on the clock which to me seems too little ( ? ) and has been resprayed which worrys me about a possible crash? Just looking for any buying Advice on TZR125R's and sports bike generally. can anybody help Cheers <>Chris

Hi there Got a late 2009 XJ6S Diversion which has been a great bike so far - currently at around 4000 miles. Had a service done a few weeks back for oil/filter change and general check-over which was all fine. However ever since I've had the bike (for about a year), I've been getting an annoying buzzing at around 6000rpm in any gear - and believe it also vibrates when standing still (on side or main stand). The buzzing is through the pegs and pretty much the whole frame - really bad causing numbness. Particularly annoying given 6k is cruising speed on the motorway in 6th! Any ideas what it could be? I've got clubman bars and a round headlight conversion coming, but i'd like to find a BIGGER gas tank that would fit the radian frame mounts... does anyone know of one that will work? also, is there are cafe rear pod for another yamaha that will mount on the radian frame? thanks guys... sure wish i could find the magic 'search' wording to find this stuff on the web... all i find are stuffs for the old 2 cylinder 500s.

I have a 01 plate yzfr1 its done 7000 miles and has no service history although the dealer i brought it from said hed given it a service.Anyway whilst idling theres a ticking coming from the engine its not that loud really and doesnt seem to rise with revs but i can sometimes hear it on the road ,also when out on the road the carbs seem to sound rather 'throaty'are these noises normal or is something up?

Hello, in first time, sorry for mine english, I am from Czech rep. and I still learn . So, I have small problem with mine old lady - Yamah Xj 550 1986. If i start bike, I hear some noise from Cam chain from motor. This noise, I hear only if bike is cold. If I ride some 10km and motor is hot, this noise is gone. I',ve recently bought a 2004 DT125R Field Bike.I've Done A Full Strip Down And Rebuild But when I Stripped it i found that there were only a few wires left from the original harness,just enough to make it run.I want to put the bike back on the road but don't know which harness i need.There is a 3RM harness and a Later model to which i don't know the number.When I Enquired on ebay about if a 3RM harness would fit i was told to look at the numbers on my cdi unit.Upon Inspection i found the cdi had 4DL on it,so the bloke said the harness will not fit.So I then search for a 4DL harness and find out That 4DL refers to a TZR125 and not DTR125R. Can Anyone out there pleas…

hey does anyone no if there is a blue flame exhaust can for a 05 R6??

i have just changedmy indicators but they fuse keeps blowing because the watage of the bulbs is to high i do have 10w bulbs on order but for the time been can i use a higer amp fuse as when i use the indicators it blows and the rear light dosent work apart from when breaking so i i put a 15amp or 20amp fuse in there will it work or will somthing else blow ? so from a 10amp - 15 or 20 amp fuse the fuse controls rear light,number platelight and front and back indicators the indicators front and back are the same and all have 21w bulbs in atm but have 10w's on order as i sead so will it work or will it damage somthing elso other wise i will have to use my arms for now

Hi everyone, A girl who rides in our group picked up a '93 Seca and the seat is a bit tall for her. She has shaved off some of the seat to get lower, but it's not enough. Can she do anything to get it lower? I know on some newer bikes you can replace links in the rear suspension to get it lower, but I am not sure about this Seca? Any help is appreciated, thanks. Kent

hi everybody! im hoping sombody can point me in the right direction of some clear indicator lenses for my 1998 yzf750sp (cadburys boost foxeye type). in NOT after complete indicator stickion units as i would like to keep the bike in an fairly unmolested state. the lenses are rectangular and held on with a phillips head self tapper. any help would be much appreciated as amber repeaters are a pet hate of mine. thanks alot.

Hello guys, my yamaha xj600n 1997 is give me headaches and costing me sh"t load of money at this point in time!! the fault she will not start and its the electrical system playing up to, she broken down before last xams when i was at work, i think it was the battery not charging right because of the bad weather at the start all of this"" I try friend is bike mechanic he had her for 4 mounths and he replacement the wiring harness and regulrtor/rectifier unit all the relays replacement two ignition coils and still not start after all this work he did on her so whats is going on can yous help me with this

Thanks for all your comments i will do my best to answer all info! When i first got the bike i had to change the battery as it wouldnt hold a charge. after this it was ok for a few months but then in the cold weather it wouldnt start from cold. thought it was just bad winter cos it stopped a few times but was able to get it going alright. Eventually it wouldnt start anymore. As it stands now i still cant bump start it. When the key is in the ignition and starter button is pressed the starter motor turns over but no spark is going to coils - just makes whirring sound. Mechanic kept trying one thing after another buying parts saying this could be the problem..... repla…

hi everyone decided to join this forum as ive been looking and it seems theres a lot of clever people here and i need some help, i removed the rear wheel from my yzf 750 changed the tyre now cant get the wheel to fit again, ive looked at a diagram i have it all right it just wont fit seems about 1/4 inch to wide. anyone ever know a swing arm to bend/distort??? only just got the bike so never had wheel out before! thanks
