another noob question here guys forgive me.... so its come time for me to mod the bike out a bit and the first thing i wasnt to change is my exhaust... mainly cuz i dont like how the stock exhaust sounds..... aside from the added power gain i was wondering.... if i just get a slip on exhaust WITHOUT headers will taht alone change the sounds drastically.... or do i need to buy the full system to get a better sound or will the sound not change at all thanks in advance

I recently got a YX 600 Radian - 1986. I plan to slowly give it a streetfighter look. Anyone else around done this? Any suggestions? Pictures? I've already stripped all the extraneous plastic off the bike. I'm looking for handlebars but not sure what kind. I don't know anyone else w/ a radian so any help would be appreciated.. Thanks

Hey, first post on the forum so hello to everyone here. Just spent a fair few minutes having a read about some of the previous posts regarding the RS125, R125 and the YZF125. I am doing my bike test saturday 27th and will be buying a 125cc bike. I've been driving a car for 2 years so I have some road experience but on a bike obviously extra caution is required. Now my dilemma. I am after a 125cc and the YZF looks like the one. Would picking the YZF 125 be an excellent choice for a first bike due to the following reasons, or would a bigger bike (400cc-600cc) be a better choice? Just aquired a thrashed 1997 YZF 600 (R?) with no fairings, only the windscreen so I'm not quite sure of the model. Here's the problem, second gear is gone, or unuseable anyway. All other gears work fine but when it is shifted into 2nd it won't engage, it sounds like it wants to but it won't, just growls. It only growls when I give it throttle, If I shift into 2nd and just coast it's fine (no noise). I'm planning on repairing the gearbox, I've heard this is a common problem with 2nd gear - a roll pin sheared off or something. This happen to anyone else? How much to fix? Also, the front end from the tripple clamp to the tire has been swapped with one from an R6 and the …

1997 YZF 600r Does the engine need to be completely disassembled to access the gearbox internals? I don't have the shop manual for this bike yet and was trying figure out how involved it's going to be to fix my 2nd gear problem. I'm pretty sure it's the dogs on the shift fork causing the gear not to engage.

Hi Folks, New to the site and back on two wheels after a decade and a half sitting on four wheels.... My YZF 600 (1994) is being put away for the winter, approx 2 months, i want to turn the fuel off and drain the carbs to stop any potential problems that may occur later. Can any one tell me where i can locate the fuel shut off valve on this bike, I dont even know if it has one... Failing this , can you tell me what other options are available Thanks Z.

I try to convert the wet sump to dry sump on a yzf r6 engine. In order to select a scavenge pump it is needed to know the flow rate of oil returning in sump, but i have no way to find it out. So it would be very nice to tell it to me if anyone know it. Thank you in advance.

Hello all, I'm looking to get one of these fine motorcycles, based on some of the research I've done on it, they seem like a good allrounder which is what I'm after. I know about the 2nd gear issue, but was wondering if there are any other things I should watch out for in particular on this model, when test riding, any other known issues? Strange question, but, are colours an issue? Some of them are pretty gaudy (orange) so would these be less valuble, or harder to resell, like a chocolate brown car?? Hi I new to this site, so go easy on me.....Anyway I went to see a 94' YZF 750 the other night, now it's seems not to bad but it's been advertised as a "streetfighter", mmmm!!. Been "down the road" probably, anyway I'm supposed to go out tonight to see how good/bad it drives. Apart from no fairing/not the proper clocks/h/light everything seems pretty much ok!. But the seat hight looks (to me) a bit on the high side, as if it's either had the reat rails/shock raised a bit. It's an M reg 94', I dont know the miles because it's not the right clocks, and the seller doesn't know, or not saying. Should I just keep well away from it, or is worth taking the risk, thanks for any h…

Can anybody help me please i have a 1998 yzf 750 r its an american import and im having a few problems with it. I have a constant error code comming up on the tacho at 12,000 rpm ..there is no error code for this exup is fine ,fuel sensor is fine plus usa bikes seem not to of had a tps.Does anyone know a bypass for the error codes i just want my rev counter back. Also running really rough at low revs ,adjuted pilots all over shop cleaned carbs still poo, have been told they may need ultrasonic cleaning anyone had simlar probs...any feed back be cool...Rich oxford uk

It looks like my vacuum tap on my 96 yzf750r has decided to give up the ghost and i'm am finding it hard to get a overhall kit for it,Yamaha want £85 for a new tap and they don't do a kit for one,and it seems that scrap yards have none at all or they want stupid amounts of money for one.
