This Polish guy didn't see me at a junction and clipped me. Luckily I was unhurt, but his bumper and grill are badly damaged. I can't believe the amount of damage my bike caused to his car, when my bike hasn't a scratch on it. I think it would be a different story if I was on a sports bike and not a supermoto. The rear footpeg saved me! It has been annoying me for months because it keeps falling down when I fold it up. It saved my leg from being crushed.

Hi all, I'm after some general opinions ref riding in town / slow moving traffic and bikers overtaking other bikers. On my daily commute to & from work, if I'm following traffic with no room to filter or overtake (usually in a single lane), I often get a rider either coming to my side and blocking my ability to manoeuvre or trying to get a little ahead of me. If there is space ahead, I have no problem 'yielding' to a bike willing to go faster then I am but in slow moving traffic isn't there some rule or etiquette? I did my CBT freakin decades ago and remember being told the bike in front has priority as, in general, you (as the rider behind) has a wider vie…

Hi Guys, I have been off the radar lately due to hectic work/uni/life commitments, anyway I hope everyone has been safe and well. I have become really lazy and started to neglect the care of my bike through stress and tiredness. I have noticed today that it is pretty corroded, now I do have ACF-50 which I applied but it mustn't of been enough. There are no major problems with the bike but here is what is bugging me and needs sorting out........... 1) Bash plate has come loose somehow, so after failing to cable tie it (temporarily) I have removed it. 2) Corrosion around the bike, rust etc, looks shabby 3) Electric start knackered 4) Headlights knackered af…

hey people.. ive noticed on my last 2 outings on my trusty steed that she doesnt seem as healthy as she was, im going to try explain whats happening and what ive done... well going through the revs i can get her up to 9,000rpm but she starts to run out of guts i mean if i get her into 4th on the flat there doesnt feel any kinda pull no feel to go up to the next gear but if you do the revs drop off and i have to shift down again. i am missing the feel of the powerband its just a steady rise in rpm i was getting max 45mph - 50mph (hard pushing) on a 60mph road wich was a little frustrating knowing i have been along the road before 60mph no problem with more in the…

Hey everyone, I bought my second dt lanza after my first one ( perfect condition) was stolen out of my backyard at night. I struggled in the beginning with a lot less power than my first bike had and a so called mechanic here told me its just because of the compression and that a piston ring change would solve the problem. So he did this and it was a lot better, until today.... Luckily I was just going around in town, when the engine made a different and not so pleasing noise, I switched into neutral and then the engine died, when I tried to kick start it, the starter didn't let me kick it, there is just a stop and I'm afraid that the piston ring broke and fell into…

Hello, I was just wondering if I have to mix 2-stroke oil with my petrol? I haven't been mixing oil with my petrol but I do have oil in the engine itself. I'm taking it out this weekend so I don't want me wrecking the engine because I don't mix oil with petrol. Thanks! I'm talking about my DT-125

Just had a new tyre fitted, a vee rubber that cost about £45. Straight away I noticed the difference from my BT 45. I don't feel safe on it and my confidence has dropped massively going round corners. I didn't want a cheap shitty tyre fitting. It's going to have to come off.

Speedo cable broke on the NTV last weekend, was the 17 year old original so no real heartache but .... To replace it I had to remove the wee Puig flyscreen covering the clocks, undid the bolts OK but when lifting it off, as the tension was released from the clamps the plastic cracked around the mounting points (it's been friggin' cold here since forever so everything's brittle). Shed time - clean up the cracks with the Dremel and re-drill new mounting points, the screen now sits 1/2" lower, but that's fine. Put it all back together to find the speedo backlight doesn't - arse! Take it apart - gently - find the loose connection and sort it, put it all back togethe…

Ok folks if you will do your best to think what this might be I would be obliged. Took the bike out yesterday ran well and had a lot of fun right up till it started to fart and misfire, checked the plugs (ok) checked fuel lines(ok) was stopped on the side of the road swearing at it and it would not start, then out of nowhere it fired right up but not firing on number 4 cylinder. is it possible for one side of the coil pack to break? Fiddled with the HT cable and found it had a spark but still would not fire so decided to ride it home anyway and sod the damage it might do, half a mile down the road it fired up and went like nothing was wrong, the only other thing I had don…

Just bought new 1300 Dragstar and had Yamaha panniers fitted. Told they were not water proof, then found out they LEEK big time. Slight down pour of rain as the bike was standing outside, went to cover her after the rain stopped and there was about 1/2" of water in the bottom of the panniers. What use are they? cost nearly £1,000 and they are useless. Seams they leek through the lock, which means it will rust eventually. Living in Devon (UK) it does rain a lot. Anyone else had this problem? Stevie

In light traffic, raining lightly so road wet. Keeping good distance from the Fiesta in front. About to pass parked cars, on a road which I drive my Primera on a regular basis, when she suddenly pulls an emergency stop! The reason? There was a Smart car coming the other way in a gap big enough for my car and a bus!!! I had no choice but to pull the brakes hard. As doing so noticed the awful shimmer if a rainbow on the road. My front wheel locked up and started going sideways. This has happened before on my #cough# Piaggio twist and go and so I was expecting to have a get off! Great shitting myself I realised I had managed to keep upright!!! Could not believe my luck. I kn…
