yet again yamaha has come up with a new idea likely to be a hit in future- the fly by wire throttle- the all new motor is fed with fuel by the revolutionary YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) system. YCC-T is effectively a “fly-by-wire” intelligent injection/throttle control which enhances the power delivery of the machine and reduces fuel lag. you've got to hand it to yamaha, they've came out with some of the best inventions in motorbiking eg deltabox,exup,ypvs,monoshock,2 wheel drive(well maybe not best or widely used but different),5 valves per cylinder etc anyone think of any others?

Hi all. Passed my test last week and went out at the weekend and bought a Blue Yamaha Thundercat as my first bike. Chose this bike after much research and the fact it was cheap to insure. Just thought i'd drop by and say Hi and request any info on riding skills if possible. I'm just looking to build on what i've learnt. Thanks Andy

Well, my near perfect record of ebay purchases has been derailed. I recently invested in a seat unit for one of my many bikes, paid my money only for the bloke to convinently dissapear without a trace. Despite numerous emails and attempted phone calls - nothing. Being as man of limited means I dont have a lot of money to invest in my bikes and with a little one only weeks away I need to be mobile to get to work to pay for nappies etc, so if you are out there 'jgwlong' (ebay name) thanks a bunch! My advice to any of you ebaying for bits is to look out for this ebay ID and excercise caution. PS does anybody have any ideas on how best to fix a baby seat to a motorcycl…

Well guys just thought I'd let you know that my R6 dream ended on Thursday around 13.30. I turned into a side road from the main I'd just been on, went passed a van (which I thought was parked up) that then moved out and side swept me into a parked car the other side of that road. Bike looks like it will be written off but don't know yet as I was carted of in the back of an ambulance. I don't know what hurts more my injuries which aren't that bad to be honest or the void in my life where my bike was. Regards

Wotcha everyone So ok I'm 43, over 18 years married and am on my third go at starting to ride Attempt No 1: When we lived in Los Angeles for hubby's job in 2001, I thought good weather, nowt much else to do with my time (not allowed to work, shame, and no kids) why not?! Did California Motorcycle Safety Foundation course, bailed first one 'cos of extreme heat and major blisters on my hands!! Bought a brand new Kawakasi Ninja 250R in girlie yellow and purple paint scheme (doesn't seem to be available anymore). Lots of practice on parking lots in Winnetka area where we lived in the Valley aided by my lovely patient hubby. Loved my bike, BIG cheesy grins ev…

The Strom has been despatched to the Breakers Yard....and I brought this home today... 2004 TDM900 1200 miles as new! OK....here's the info: Left the house at 10am and got to Swindon just before 1pm. 45 miles of B Roads, then 80 miles of Motorway. My grey/ginger head got a right battering on the way up....particularly over the Severn Bridge! So I got to Swindon, had a coffee, did the biz, and left at 2pm. What's the TDM like? Well I saw it first being serviced on the ramp and they'd taken the plate off cos it had another dealer's name on it. And I thought it was a brand new one, not the used one that I'd bought! It had done 1200 miles …

im about 2 weeks away from needing a pair of new tires have seen a pair of bridgestone bt021 at the price of £158.00 incl delivery then obviously fitting on top of this. they are to be fitted to a yamaha thundercat 600cc. i currently run the bridgestone bt020 but the rear has flat spotted in the centre and the front doesnt give me much confidence when pushing hard in the twisties. has anyone got any reviews on the bt021 good or bad i want to hear all comments. also for another 20 pound i can get the michelin 2ct. are these worth the extra 20 pound or is it just another marketing gimmick to get more pound notes out of our pockets trying to convince us that the edg…

And this time it's Peabody! After persistently hurling Pro Yank anti Brit racist slurs all around the board.....he then did the same to one of the moderators via PM. Consequently he has now left the building for good! As an aside, I've been very busy with work commitments lately and haven't had the time to watch developments on here as closely as is necessary. From now on things will change......and the trash will be thrown out on a much more regular basis! If any more dickheads appear just PM a Mod!

I'm Interested in buying an FZ1 Abs but don't know much about it other than the marketing bumf (oh and the fact that it looks like the sort of bike you could have some fun on). Am planning to use it mainly for town (London), weekends trips out of town and also touring next year (France/Spain). Don't laugh but originally had my heart set on a BMW. Any comments, suggestions, warnings welcome. Thanks, Justin
