Hey, I just bought my first bike, got it home and it wouldn't start the next day... -Its getting spark... Picked up some ether, removed the air filter and sprayed in- tried kicking it over with filter both out and reinstalled. Only difference is that now when I kick it is that the subtle spark initiated popping sounds (motorcycle sounds) are now accompanied with high pitched chirping sounds- tried bump starting as well- same effect. The only other thing I can imagine it being is a too light or high oil content in my premix? I've tried and tried with this thing and am feeling rather defeated. -I'm so new at this, the sad thing is that it would probably o…

  6. http://www.positivespin.us/MotorOil.htm Worth a read. Its posted everywhere, but this is just one link. Its scary to think that running a 10w-40 is running a 10 weight oil with a heat thickner added. Synthetics are the other way around. Base oil of 40, that is as thin on start up as the 10 weight based oil. Theres a reason to spend more lol I also learnt that when cold, (W rating) the oil is not thinner than the hot rating, its just less thin that it would be, if it was a single weight oil. All oils are too thick at start up apparently. I believe it, because when cold I put a gloopy substance in, and when hot its like water coming out. That always confu…

Not necessarily "Vintage", but a slick bit-o-kit......Rotax powered......& built here in the states Sez it all ...... Those were the only still shots I took this time (for a change)...... Now f…

Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows what amp fuse a 1995 sr125 needs? I've got a manual, but it's for 97-03, and that says 20amps. The fuse I've got in mine is 15amps. What difference would this make? Also, the manual says there should be a thermo switch located next to the battery, but all I've got on mine is an empty plug with no switch. Cheers, Dave

Hi, I have a yamaha aerox YQ50, when i bought it, it has a standard exhaust on it, a few weeks later the exhaust blew and i had it replaced for a Leo Vince TT. Since then the bike has had a problem, when I slow down and get to around 5-10mph and accelerate again, the bike will bog down for about 20 seconds until it shoots off again, I have had the bike in the garage and the following had been checked: > Clutch and variation has been stripped, cleaned and checked > New rollers as the ones that came with my Leo Vince TT where not compatible with my bike > Throttle and Carb had been tuned and cleaned > The spark plug has been changed The mec…

I adjusted the sag enough to where i can side saddle it but thats not going to work very well when im flying through the trails and i come to a sudden stop or im slowly creeping. Is there anyway of lowering it besides a yamalink lowering link? I cant adjust the triple clamp at all. any help would be appreciated thanks

I have a 86 fz600 that idles fine and if you open it way up revs ok but it is getting to much fuel(BLACK SMOKE). if you try to accelerate normally it chugs pretty bad. i checked the compression and its about 150 straight across. I took the carbs apart 2 times and cleaned with carb cleaner then the 3rd time I boiled them out with lemon juice,,, they look super clean but im still having the same problem,,, chugs when accelerating and black smoke( im guessing to much fuel) when accelerating fast,,, but when it accelates fast there isnt the chugging''' any advise would help

I was going to use some Quicksilver Power Tune to clean out the carburetor; the first step is to remove the air filter. Which would be easy - if I knew where it was. I bought the bike used and have no manual. Where is the air filter, how do I remove it, and what tools do I need? Thanks!
