Hi guys, so got my first bike on the road and after some subtle mods and some new parts, shes looking mint, i've decided after 2000miles and not knowing its past that its time to change the chain and sprocket set i was wondered if changing the front sprocket from a 14 tooth to a 17 tooth would make any difference at all? Thanks for your help! Ollie................ DO not worry! just read an interesting post about 125 sprocket changing, which has lead me to think, get it, its only a 5er but keep the old one in case this ruins my gearing and possibly top gear pulling power..... Thanks.

I removed the rear wheel to replace the tire. After reinstalling the wheel the clutch will not disengage. When i pull on the lever, every thing moves back an fourth. It did seem looser then before the tire change. I tighten the slack nuts on the lever but still no change. With engine off, I can put it in gear and back to neutral with the foot clutch petal. when the engine is on, it catches an stalls out when i put it in first gear. It has a drive shaft. Could i have hit some thing or not put it back together right? Im stumped, i thought they were two different things.

Just thinking aloud here but i remember when these motors first appeared in 125's and the valve was pegged with carb restrictions and a bloody great washer in the pipe to give 12hp. An hours work and you were on a 20hp rocket. The new engines don't seem nearly so much fun, like the latest stuff has its powervalves operate and they just don't go. The pipe restriction is a little bit. I recon the barrel and PV have been toned down. Opinions?

hi guys, ive just bought my first real bike a 1997 xj 600n and im attempting to make it into a masterpiece. ive just got a few questions that id like to put forward to all you guys. first does anyone know if a similar year fazer rear wheel will fit on an xj? second will most mono-shocks from the same year fit the xj im trying to jack it up abit at the back? third is there a 4-4 downpipe or one that lifts the exhaust up as they are low as standard? i have some pics of the bike when i got it but i need to upload them. the previous owner had dropped it a few times and the exhaust was snapped at the 2-1 on the left section. i have latter noticed that the clutch pedal…

Help .... I have just bought a 1998 R1 and the clutch action feels like it is set in concrete. So far I have removed the clutch cable, which is free to move, as is the clutch lever. I have also had the clutch cover off and the clutch arm moves freely, no notchiness from the bearings. The previous owner tells me he had a new clutch fitted. Any one have any ideas Cheers Steve
