    Hey guys. Recently purchased an old dt1 250 complete motor to make a shifter cart with. So theres 2 black, one yellow, one green, and one white wires coming from the magneto. I cant not figure out how they wire to the coil to give the spark plug a spark! Any guesses? And also is it a 2 stroke or 4 stroke? thanks!

  2. Hi, after 18 years in my garage I've decided to sell my beautiful bike. Starts every time and brake and indicator lights work. New battery installed but can't get the side and head lights to work. I believe they are supposed to work when the engine is running? The dash blue light (high beam indicator) not working so clerarly an issue which is beyond my knowledge. Could it be the regulator or coil? Checked all cables for cracks etc. Any help appreciated.     Hi, Basically Ive had my Yamaha DTre 125 2007 for a while and Im enjoying the bike, One issue is I cant get the damn powervalve cover off to check my powervalve etc, If somebody could tell me which way the screws go for loosening (anti clockwise?)it would be very handy. I have also heard of jamming the YPVS open? would It improve power? I have done the wiring de-restriction and it made a big improvement (used to lose to my mates r125 lol) Thanks for any replys

    Hi all,just noticed on my dt 125 re between the front head light fairing and speedo ive found what i thought was just padding but seems to be some sort of resealable envelope/bag,Dont tell me i`m doing the knowledge and don`t even know it

    Hi i am looking at a Yamaha DT 125R trouble is it needs a bit of work and i dont know anything about motorcycle mechanics is there anyone here in the Taunton area that would be willing to lend a hand and could do the work that would be great. I think the bike needs a new gearbox so not sure if it is a big job then it needs a service and a bit of a smarten up and we should be rocking if any one is interested then email me [email protected] cheers Tony.

My other half as just purchased a Yamaha DT175 1975 from America, i am just after some general info really we need to know how to register the vehicle once it is over here, it does come with a title, any one with any ideas?? Also we want to fully restore the bike and wondered if any body had any contacts in the UK to get things done, such as powder coating and other things

    Greetings from Denmark, I am renovating a Yamaha DT80 LC for my son and I have found a big bore cylinder without a piston. The bore is 57mm which makes it 110cc I think. Can anyone tell me wher I can find a piston for it?

  9. Hi, I'm new to this forum. Just got my Yamaha DT125 R 1999. I have a little problem with it, it runs fine at low revs but as soon as it gets to around 6000 revs it bogs out, also as soon as the throttle is opened fully it does exactly the same. It's not a restriction as the amount of revs it bogs at changes every time. Thought it was a dirty carb but its not that as had it all cleaned up and didn't stop the bogginess. Been told it could be my coil so I've brought a new coil. Any other ideas on what it could be?

    Helloooo, I'm selling my 1979 Yamaha DT125 Enduro, I'm going to sell it as a project bike, not as a spares as their really quite a rare bike, Classic Its been sat in my garage for about 4years, however, it went to a classic bikes specialist four years ago and they completely revamped the engine and gearbox. It has done 8500miles on the orgional engine before the revamp, but it is now a mint engine and gearbox with no problems. I have stripped the paint on the fuel tank and cleared some of the corrosion inside the fuel tank, however, i think ideally it needs to be acid treated.     hey was wondering if any1 knows of sumwhere to get a full big one exhaust system and race filter and carb to suit becuz i had a dep full system and it just didnt deliver that same kick as the old big one system i had but my dep system has snaped so i need help asap as my bike has been put off the road till i get an exhaust but i also need a new speedo cable but ive ordered that and should be here soon any help would be much appreciated thanks

    Hello all, im pulling my hair out over my D Reg DT125LC (1986). I bought this a year or so ago for my little bro so he can come out with me when I go green laning.... It was working fine then all of a sudden had an intermittent fault where if would 'race' and basically fart about... Took it to my local mechanic who said it was the main seals and bearings gone and drawing in air so paid loads to have the engine fully rebuilt with new bearing, conrod, piston, etc... Worked fine for a quick ride but then started again... Took it back to him as and we were stripping it I touched the CDI area and it all started to work fine.   17. right so a few months ago now my dt seized up on me in the fields doing a little greenlaning, the throttle went rearly heavy and cut out, the kick was really hard to kick, like was really stiff, it started but shortyl died and was jammed stuck,??(the kick start) but could get it back in neutral no problem, after strippin it down i then tried takiin the engine out the frame but the swinagrm pivot bar was jammed, so i thought id jus strip the head and barrell of while i gave the bolt a good long soakin, barrell came of really nice wasnt stuck at all, then came the wacks wit the hammer and flametorch, unsuccesful was the out come :'[, and then for some reason i grabbed hold …

    alot of people dont like the top speed of the yamaha dt125r im on my 2nd dt125 the 1st was an 89 bt ive got a 92 nw and tbh the power is less the newer the bike i found out if you strip the engine right down and put a tzr 125 2rk gearbox in its got a nice tasty pick up aswell as top speed would like to know if any1 has any other idears for tuning the good old dt125r as im really keen on the dt125s bt im waiting to strip my spare engine to bits to get my tzr gear box in hehe if any1 knows any other way of tuning please please let me know

    hi,ive just had a new pc so all my passwords and usernames have being lost for some reason so ive made a new log in, ok then on m yammi dt125r ive being having probs with the clutch firstly when i start my engine and put in gear on low revs i can here the engine die slightly and occasionaly it will stall but once the engine is warm i have no probs putting in gear on tick over i was wondering if it needed a new cluch or something wrong with the oil thx

    I've just brought a 2001 yamaha DT125r. the guy i brought it from has said he's been told by a mechanic that the crank seals have gone and need replacing, runs alright, abit noisy but thinking that might be due to holes in the exhaust, a freinds managed to get a clean one for me so going to fit that when it arives. apparently it hasnt long had a full engine re build, ive got some pictures showing this so unsure why he's saying this. is there any way of checking this without taking too much of the engine appart?
