Firstly - before the mods kick my ass - this is NOT a For Sale ad! I've had an approach from a guy who wants to swop his race/track bike for my FZR. Its also an FZR, but apparently was built by V&M for Jim Moodie as a spare bike for the 1996 North West 200 Production race but never used. Its in good condition, ready to race or for track day use. Its heritage can be verified as genuine (so i'm told). Is there much demand for this kinda thing? Or does anyone wanna buy it?? lol I'm kinda tempted to do the deal but only with the intentions of selling it on straight away to raise funds for another road bike. All opinions welcome! Vic

Hi again folks, I just thought I'd update you on the progress of the little Yam Thanks go to Chris66, for info on forks, now sorted and fitted with new seals :-) By the way, I must say I found it strange that you gave the size of the bi-hexagon damper tube top, in "imperial" (ie. 5/8") when the bike is Japanese and mainly metric sizing, but I did manage to get them out with a length of 8mm studding and some 13mm nuts. they were a bit sloppy and would have been better with 14mm. But as I'm not planning on doing them again anytime soon I'm quite chuffed that the job is now done Thanks too to Paul (O.G.O.A.B.) for his invaluable input regarding the re-soldering of…

  13. Hi, I have a problem with my son's (restricted) 535S Virago and I've torn out virtually all the hair I have left in trying to solve it - so I hope someone out there can help: 1997 535S twin carbs and everything bog standard apart from the restrictor. 1. Original fault was not starting after a lay-off over last winter: Stripped down the carbs and changed the petrol pump because the pump wasn't 'ticking'. It was neither of those but the bike started after that - first go as I recall. 2. Now starting OK but:- Poor performance - no power and wouldn't go much above 50 mph in any gear. It seems to reach a flat spot: Inspected the diaphrams and fo…

Can anyone tell me if FZX fork yolks will fit my FZ 750, or any other yolk that would fit to raise handlebars above yolks (as i want to street me bike). Or even another set of forks/yolks that fit straight on. Are R6 or R1 compatible ? Also i want to change rear end & improve suspension & fit wider tire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just took delivery of my Hood ND4 jeans, along with the armour inserts - very impressed with the build quality, they are very long for a pair of jeans but I'm assuming that's so that when you're sitting on the bike they're not halfway up your leg. Anyway, I thought maybe some of you might have been thinking about getting a pair of armoured jeans, if you want to know anything about them let me know. Cheers JK
