does anybody know if the small pin in the end of the camshaft is held in in any way or does it just sit there beside the cam bolt?

Hi, I am confused as to the air pressure in the front forks, my local Yamaha dealer sys the pressure should be 0lbs yet my clymer manual says between 5 and 0. Is this with the irks under or off pressure? Thanks Steve

Hi all. Glad to be back. I was told not to ride motorbikes again by my doc. Since I broke foot its fixed my left shoulder for some reason so on Tuesday went out and bought a 1987 xt600 2n4 . Love to be back on a bike again. Now where do those restrictors live?

Hi all. A question for xt600 owners. I have an aftermarket dipstick come oil temp gauge and it has no markings on for oil level !. The needles exposed length is 115mm. Could someone tell me the where on there dipstick is the max/min levels please. All the best Paul

Hi does any one know what the small black relay on my XT600e, at the side of the battery just above the swinging arm is? and if so what does it actually do and can i safely put a similar one in is place as mine has been destroyed by my chain. Thanks, Sean

Oops missus went out shopping. Accidentally bought a ebay 91 Xt600e when mrs went out shopping but needs rear pads. What size tools do i need to do pads before 200 mile ride from middlesex to manchester. Regards Simon

Hi guys, i want to pick your brains. I recently picked up a second hand XT660X with 15k on the clock. Its a lovely machine but it over revs by itself and dies out at low speed when changing gear. There have been times when ive been placed in danger because of this and its also quite embarrassing. Never has any problem restarting though! I know its the TPS. Looking back at some of the forums, i can see other XT riders have had the same problem and ive heard that Yamaha replaced the TPS on some machines under warranty but i expect this option is not available anymore because the machine is a 04 model and getting on a bit. Does anyone know where i can order a TPS because …

Hi all I just bought a 2008 Tenere which I love. I was thinking about putting a K&N air filter on it. Will this make any noticeable improvements to to the power? Is there anything else that I can do to get a few more ponies out of the bike? Many thanks Si

hi lads im supposed to be picking up an xtz 660 1992 later on today but before i commit is there any real probs apart from the cdi is missing off the one i am getting its in good nick and was running its bin lying up fer a yr and the black box is in the wind from the checking iv been doing the tdm will fit it but affects the bottom end ? is the cdi a common problem ? seems to be a lot written about the cdi ?and are the 660 and 750s part common to each other i know my way around a bike but its my first tenere and im not arrogant enought to pretend i know it all so any help appreciated also if any one has a pulsar coil or knows were i can get good second hand or even a…

hi all just spent some hard earned money on a 1990 xtz 750 and all seemed well initially (great fun bike ) starts fine but after 10 mins or so of riding perfectly on the 3 occasions i have riddden it , closed throttle going into corner and serious misfire has started and continued all the way home . bike ticks over ok but blipping throttle on and off eventually just coughs and dies . any advice will be greatly appreciated filters are new , have plugs to fit tomorrow. regards martin

I have a 96 xv535 that's leaking at the clutch shaft seal where it enters the case behind the rear cylinder. Local yamaha shop said they have never seen one leak there before. I've checked the crankcase breather and it's clear. Does anyone know what caused the leak and do I have to pull rear cylinder to change the seal. Also I noticed that the aftermarket clutch kits note that kits are not for full synthetic oil. I've been running amsoil for the last 20,000 miles. Bike has 25,000 miles.

Hi All Need some help again needing a oil pump chain tensioner for my XV750 its a 1995 , i bought this bike from a geezer who had dropped it and damaged the lefthandside engine caseing along with footrest this had gone into engine caseing sending bits into engine , the geezer stripped off the caseing etc took bits off that didnt need takeing off blah de blah and has not given me the oil pump chain tensioner only part of it which is a metal cover half moon shaped fits onto inner caseing the tensioner fits above this ,been told this morning is not possible to get a new one from yamaha as now out of production so no spares for this bike available seems hard to beli…
