Hello there, It's David Batchelor here, doing a story for BIKE mag. Thanks for having me on your super site - I wonder whether you might be able to help us again? We're doing a piece on bike tech - and we'd like to hear from anyone with a new, crossplane crank R1. We just want to know what you think of it, whether it lives up to your expectations/the hype/the price and how it compares to previous R1s and other machines you might've ridden. If that's you, you can ping us a passport-style pic of yourself, and you're happy to have your words printed in the UK's best-selling biking mag, then drop me a PM before Friday 4th Sept (yes I know it's very soon, but this…

Hi, please can anyone help with the following ---it would be most appreciated I own a pre 83 V50 that I use when I go to the Greek islands (it resides there). It underperforms top end despite new carB, rings, Head & base gasket, Air filter & plug. You can feel an occasional short power surge as the bike struggles up hill, but the revs immediately die to labouring mode, downchanging then results in the ultmate over revving. Additionally The baffle is missing from the exhaust & getting a replacement out there is useless so some advice on how to get a replacement would be most grateful, unfortunately I forgot to check the exhaust end pipe internal…

Helloooo, I'm selling my 1979 Yamaha DT125 Enduro, I'm going to sell it as a project bike, not as a spares as their really quite a rare bike, Classic Its been sat in my garage for about 4years, however, it went to a classic bikes specialist four years ago and they completely revamped the engine and gearbox. It has done 8500miles on the orgional engine before the revamp, but it is now a mint engine and gearbox with no problems. I have stripped the paint on the fuel tank and cleared some of the corrosion inside the fuel tank, however, i think ideally it needs to be acid treated. I'm going to strip all of the paint off the body work, as my dad did a bad jo…

Right guys and gals, i am currently stripping my R1 down in preperation for a full winter overhaul from road bike to track racer. I am going to be racing in next years Scottish road racers championship with anyluck (sponsors and my bottle provided ;-)). I have purchased a race fairing and i am about to get the new paint scheme designed, i am however still looking for company or club sponsors. I have 2 local companys already willing to back this, but still looking for more as the financial outlay is quite a bit, not only for the bike and parts, but also the full race season itself. So if anybody has a company or knows a company wanting its name on a race bike (wi…

In a South American cotton plantation in 1849 there was a rather large very muscular negro slave called James. One day the lady of the house called him over. "James", she said, "Yes ma'am " "James, take off my dress" "Yes ma'am" said James. and he took off her dress. "Now James, take off my stockings. "Yes ma'am" said James. and he took off her stockings. "Now James, take off my brassiere" "Yes ma'am" said James. and he took off her brassiere. "Now James, take off my briefs" "Yes ma'am" said James. and he took off her briefs. "Now James" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . "Don't ever let me see you wearing my clothes again!

Hi All I have here a WR400F that was advertised as stolen/recovered by the dealer I bought it from The frame number has been filed off and painted over The engine number is still present I phoned Yamaha UK with the engine number and they couldnt locate it directly but said they suspected from similar engine numbers either side, that the bike was a 1999 The DVLA have advised me to contact the owners club or yamaha to obtain a Dating Certificate (what can I say; she's my kind of ride ) for the bike. They also want to inspect the bike to check some things (not an SVA but some kind of inspection) and will issue a log book upon payment of £55 plus some money…
