Its not for everyone, but give it at least 2 trys and you just might get hooked The 'Vez 20Ten' (the YOC meet at Squires) had me in North Yorkshire, I set off a day earlier than the rest of the reprobates, so on that first day on my lonesome I went 'geo-caching' Geo-caching is a worldwide game/sport/hobby/sad act, what ever way you want to look at it but its an amazing way to get to see your area-or other areas that you would never find or see, as mostly you would just leisurely bimble past at 95mph (Lord Cardboard Dave) etc, anyhoo,-put your postcode or address into the boxes and select 5 mile radius or 10 mile radius or 270 mile radius and have a looky, …

Got knocked off FIVE DOORS FROM MY HOUSE! Pretty much was tailing (at a safe distance) a chelsea tractor drivern by two old people (if you don't know what a chelsea tractor is - it's a shiny new land rover driven by people with no land and a house in chelsea!). Pretty much they pulled over to the left, I assumed they were stopping. I went round the right of them, just as he attempted to swing into his driveway, causing me to swerve into the curb, the bike to hit a wall, and me to go skidding down the pavement. I'm cut and grazed, but the bike still works, with a few dings and scratches. I'm not sure if I have a claim or not. Anyway, when I got in I rung my old man. …

So I'm looking into all the things I want to use my soon to be bike for after I buy it, other than the security aspect (posted: ) I wondered if it was possible to do long distances on it, although not reglarily. I've had mixed responses from looking at previously posted topics on this forum and others, ranging from "NO, don't be daft!" to "sure, I go from london to Scotland every other day" - kind of responses. Asking my cycling instructor, they suggested not to try doing the 200 mile ride as it would shake me to pieces and my overheat my bike. But it must be possible in some capacity or another? If it usually takes 4 hours in my car to do this trip with 1 break…

Hay guys, this is my first post here and I know almost nothing about bikes so please excuse my ignorance. I'm 21 and drive a Peugeot 406 which I love for its space and comfort (I personally like how it looks too) but its not exactly nippy and I often wish it gave a little bit more when I want to drive it quickly. I wish I could afford a bigger car but they are expensive to buy and insure so that is out of the question right now. Recently a friend suggested a bike could add a little spice back to my motoring, he assured me even a 125 would be faster (accelerating) and more fun than my car. I had always dismissed bikes because of the perceived danger but the idea of …

This maybe a bit of a nooby question but if you don't ask you don't know! Basically as a new rider I'm just about managing to get to grips with everything but one thing I think would make my life a hell of a lot easier is if I could tell what gear I was in... Is there such thing as a gear reader I could buy that shows what gear I'm in?!

  10. I currently obtained a 1977 Yamaha Chappy lb80 from my dad. it was sitting there for a long time and does not currently run. i took it to the shop this morning to have them get it running again. my question is this. after i get it back, is there anything that i can do get more power out of it? obviously keep a clean filter in it, but is there anything else that i can do besides boring out the cyliders? thank you in advance!!! sincerely, happy_chappy_owner p.s. I know these machines were not made for a lot of speed, but i would like to get a little extra "oomph" so to speak as i am right at 200 pounds.

Hey guys ive got a 2000 Virgao XV125, all good with it until the other day. Had a ride from Benfleet to Stambridge via Southend (about 25 miles), all was well until I stopped the bike briefly (literally 2 minutes) and when I tried starting it again there was just a electrical cyclical sound coming from what I think it the starter motor! Had to bump start it to get it home. topped up battery with distilled water, cleaned connections to battery and went to charge it but charger read that battery was full but surely it couldnt be? Being a newb to anything bike related I really dont know the next step without taking it a garage which I dont want to do (and currently cant do a…

Hi all, So I've been trying to answer posts on this forum and not just run here for help, but it would seem that I lack the knowledge required to post, or indeed fix. Apologies... Anyway. I changed my rear sprocket and chain today on my TTR, which was too much of a job in itself. After finishing off, putting everything back together, and feeling far too worn out than I should've been, I went for the customary test run. And I noticed this whine. I don't mean a small one, like you'd get from a fuel pump, I mean quite a considerable note, resonating quite nicely at about 50mph. I think it was roughly A#, although it might have been a B. I've googled the p…

Hi guys, Haven't been on here for a while because I've been busy at work. Right here's the dilemma..................... I bought my 125 in March and now am seriously bored of it. I have an XT 125 X four stroke which is an excellent beginner's bike but slow as..... My plan over the last few months was to get a 125 2T sports, Aprilia RS or equivilent which I would keep as weekend bike to satisfy my need for speed and to get my kicks. But, now I am thinking shall I just do my test? I don't know whether to get a 125 sports or just do my test.

ive been riding a YBR125 since April, through the rain and shine, but now, it seems more rain than shine yesterday, my instructor showed me some tricks to keep warm and dry when the wet stuff comes down. I liked the handlebar muffs, which would certainly keep my hands dry (im sick of having wet hands all the time, and drying my gloves with a hair dryer), and heated grips also seem to be a winter essential for some riders but before i go spending money, it would probably be worth checking that they ACTUALLY work, and that my little bike can cope so, first of all: is it sensible to fit Muffs to a YBR? and are there any brands that are incompatible with the YBR bar…

I have just realised just how much money I have spent on my bike. Everytime I see something on eBay I cannot resist buying it. I have just bought a new bash plate and foot pegs. Really I didn't need either. I am selling my bike in March so the person who gets it after me will be getting a really good bike which has had no expense spared. I have nearly spent what I paid for the bike in parts, extras and labour. I want ti to be a really nice bike to look at, ride, and to function perfectly, but all my time, expense, and hard work is just going to benefit the person who gets her next. I think I'm finished buying extra's for her now. From now on it is just needs must basis.

Merv how far could you take one of your fleet, you are one of our most southern members. Realisticly there will only be bout a dozen of us so there are plenty of campsites to use all over the country. Maybe someone knows something squires ish around oxford maybe. Lets have some idea's
