1994 import model. Black/blue. Immaculate condition to the extent it still has the original stickers on the petrol tank, chain guard, shocks and forks. Less than 24,000Km. Original exhaust still in excellent condition. Slight dink on silencer. New f pads, battery and Scott oiler. Been dry stored for the past 4 years but run up regularly. Im getting to old and knackered to manage a big bike so Ive got a XV535 to potter around on. Any ideas whats its worth? ATB Joshua

Ho! fellow Yam lovers, I have this weird problem that's proving difficult to diagnose. Sometimes and ONLY sometimes I hear this awful yowling noise from my XJ600. The reason I say it's difficult to diagnose is that it disappeares when you go below 50mph and as I'm sure you'll agree you can't really hear much but wind above 50mph (well, not MY wind anyways). However, I was travelling home late last night and I heard the noise and had a look down and noticed that the speedo light was glowing dull then normal; unusual as all the other clocks didn't vary. Whenever I dipped below 50, the clock light became normal and the sound vanished. Could this be a noisey speedo cable prob…

im sure that that at some point we have all fitted a jubilee clip/clamp at some time,so,there i was, fitting a jubilee clamp on a radiator hose,10mins later, still trying to get the screw to pick up on the thread to no avail & then realised that it was left hand thread???? why??? i know that left hand thread is common on a crankshaft end etc etc so that a nut/bolt doesnt undo itself but on a jubilee clamp ffs.i have fitted probably hundreds of the things over the years but have never come accross on with left hand thread before, anyone else come accross one? maybe its a one off & worth thousands & i should stick it on ebay - unless i get an offer i cant refuse fo…

Hi All Just bought a 1986 DT125 as a project. It's been sitting in a barn for 15 years! The number plate is missing and there's no v5. Is there a way of finding this out from the chassis number? Shaun

I was looking at pics of the bike and i couldn't figure out what this big red this is. It's big and red so it must be important. My guess is something to do with turing around cause of the circle, i dont think bikes have windscreen wipers, indicators are on the left, so's the horn. My only decent guess would be traction control, but i dont think it has that. There's even another one down below, small and black so not as important, but it's got the loop over thing again.

More years ago than I care to remember when my daughter was 16 I bought her a twist and go so she could get to collage, the price of the bike included a days training and the CBT test but they would only deliver it to the training centre, unfortuantly she failed the test so I had to ride it home. I will never forget riding that thing, just about got to 30 flat out, no chance of accelerating out of trouble, I tell a couple of times it really put the shits up me. anyway after spending hours in the local sainsbury's car park teaching her how to ride and of course riding it back to the training centre she passed her CBT and I vowed never to go near one again.

Hi everyone The newbie is here again. I have my first manual bike after having a scooter for 4 years, and I am trying to get used to checking the chain tension......and it isn't going very well!!!! I checked the tension and according to Haynes Manual it was too tight so I have adjusted it to what it says, however I don't think the wheels are aligned now. Is there an easy way of finding this out, I have tried the string way and this is so fiddly I'm not confident it has worked. I think it is out of alignment as when I'm riding along the front wheel feels light - and ive lost my confidence going round sharp corners because a couple times it felt…

Hello, I plan to get tyres for my YBR, probably going for Michelin Pilot Sporty. I considered fitting them myself and seen Youtube vidz etc. Also watched vidz on wheel balancing and here's the Q. Why not balance the wheel on it's own axle, in the forks and with the calipers removed? I'm just wondering how it differs from taking the wheel off to put on a contraption.
